It is a blend of slice of life and romcom, I think the pace will be slow for some people, especially if you read subtitles and miss quite a bit of good fun in the scenes. But overall, I agree, it gives me some refreshing set up, very nice food shots, some silly good laugh, especially after a long day. LYR has some detailed acting that I appreciate too.

Those drama went beyond reasonable custom or more likely, they are just expressing that they agree the kid will take the mom's family surname, not the husband himself change his whole name and the message fails during translation. When chineses marry, they dont change their surname, even the wifes in normal circumstances nor matrilocal marriage, not like in the west. This has to do with blood line, so unless he is considered to be adopted, to become their own son, the surname will stay as it is.

that's impossible in modern day, not even 1000+ years back, men never takes wife's surname, kids only take their mom's surname in very rare occasion (mostly related to divorce or single parent)

Nah, Chinese always take their farther's surname. But I think you are on something important here. I think this is their dad's side family, it's just mean , they are not directly from this ancestor couple, it's just somewhere in Shen's huge family tree, there is this famous lady who marry to an important guy (and they call of these people ancestors).

yeah, and tbf, even in modern age, I believe most countries have a limit of something like cant marry within 3-4 generations, this guy is like 1000 years+ away from each others, dont know how many gen is that, it's more like a guy who shares a same surname.

I also like the family's dynamics, looks promising, there is potential for good comedy

as far as i understand, rna orginally aimed at cerntain cancer disease, later on it is used for brain regeneration, for most experimented patients the drugs do not work, for some that seems to work at first, it creates side effects which is they can remember the loop day, but at the same time, these people have their life time shortened significantly, the drug attacks the weakest link in their body and it's different for different people, for male lead, it's his heart, for myz, it's his eyes and for jyw, it's his immune system and he just gets old very fast. Eventually, in case of the mouse rn356 and fl's friend, they deteriorated fast and died.
