I still found myself watching it through to the end

I wasn’t familiar with the original Japanese story (*The Inanimate World*), so I don’t have a basis for comparison regarding this remake. However, it’s clear that general audience reception has been largely negative, with frequent criticism aimed at the plot’s predictability and the lack of emotional impact in its conclusion.

I must admit that, for some time now, Korean dramas have not had the same emotional resonance for me. With the exception of *In Your Radiant Season*, which I recently finished and absolutely loved, my viewing choices have gradually shifted in other directions.

I chose this drama for its promise of suspense, mystery, and criminal investigation. The romance, however, felt more like an afterthought—present, but ultimately irrelevant to the overall narrative.

The performances were solid, particularly Wi Ha Joon, who stood out with a compelling presence.

As for the script and direction, they were serviceable, but the crucial element of surprise—so essential in a good suspense drama—was noticeably lacking. Quite amusingly, I had already identified the killer within the first two episodes, along with the supposedly deceased fiancé abroad.

While I wouldn’t consider Siren’s Kiss a great drama, I also wouldn’t label it as entirely bad. Despite the underwhelming episodes released twice a week—which significantly hurt the narrative’s momentum and engagement—I still found myself watching it through to the end.

It’s worth a glance. Perhaps a slightly skeptical one—but a glance nonetheless.
