Yes! I also enjoyed LYST a lot more than other dramas that aired last year and was enjoying her brief appearance in ''The Double'' as well, I find the negativity baffling and time consuming, like, if you have a problem with an actor/actress - just don't watch the shows they're in! That's what I do, cause it doesn't make sense to waste my time on things I struggle with, but maybe I'm to simple minded in this aspect lol

Yes, I agree. Our society was always ruled by the pretty privilege, nothing new there...I can't say anything about the actresses in question, cause I'm not really up to date on the subject, all I can say after all, it does come down to the matter of preference and taste. Even here on this page I see people regularly complaining about Esther or Ryan as well, so I guess there is no celebrity out there without a concerning amount of haters, which kind makes me sad tbh, people can dislike whomever they want, it's their prerogative, but there's no need to spread hate...

I have not read the novel so I cannot attest to that part of the debate, but I agree, the performance of the cast was amazing.
The first half of the show was indeed very strong, I like how they set the story, the characters and the revenge ark. I'm a bit disappointed with the direction they went in the second half of the series and practically changed the characters completely by deciding to focus on the leads love story, which I'm not mad about the focus on love per se, but rather the way they portrayed the said characters in love. Turning them into very weak people, no longer able to distinguish right from wrong and give up on the things they stood by. For me that's lack of consistency both regarding the story and the characters. The leads could've been a power couple, instead it went in the worst direction possible....perhaps they really aimed for the tragedy......anyways, that is my take on this.
