Can someone explain the wei and yang case I'm quite lost here. Why is it important?
From what I understand (and I am probably missing a shit ton of details), this is a case from ten years ago involving the Wei lord, who was accused of killing his wife. The case was never properly resolved, and the husband was imprisoned. The ML later reopens it because he believes the conviction was wrongful and that key elements of the case don’t add up.
As the investigation unfolds, it becomes clear that the officials who handled the case were acting in a “fishy” manner, which strongly suggests protection from someone in a higher position. The case also implicates several noble families, including the Rong family.
This is why the male lead infiltrates the Rong household ( an unplanned amnesia was not enough to stop him lmao). He suspects that the supposedly murdered wife is actually alive and being hidden there—which we eventually learn is true, as she is living under the identity of Nanny Liang. This revelation carries even heavier implications. Liang Nanny’s family ( the Yang family)—specifically her brother—has also been searching for her, since she is the only living witness who can expose the truth of the case. Not only is she alive, but the person who tried to kill her was her own brother.
By overturning this case, the male lead demonstrates moral integrity and a willingness to challenge corrupt officials and powerful families in pursuit of justice. This feels narratively important, as it clearly sets up future consequences—those operating behind the scenes are unlikely to stay passive—but we’ll need more episodes to see how those forces finally move.
WTF? Male lead threatening commoners, FL whipping her own sister? Are we supposed to support that? That is villain…
That’s a valid reaction, honestly. But the show hasn’t exactly hidden this—after 19 episodes, it’s been pretty upfront that these leads aren’t meant to be soft, white-and-fluffy characters. They’ve been high-handed, scheming, and morally grey from the start, so this feels more like consistency than a sudden turn. Completely get the frustration though, and it makes sense if this is where you tap out.
Why is he even demanding an explanation from her. - He is in no place to demand anything!
Because he is a delusional individual with a victim mentality. As I expressed before in the comments, because of guys like this, a lot of girls are losing their self-confidence and think they are the problem when it's clearly not the case. Hope it's the last we see him....
Haha its not it was fun but they dragg that too much I agree ont that. Hope last eps have roamnce if she misunderstood…
Yeah, agreed, besides it's only normal after years of watching. I think it's better to be intentional with what dramas to watch than watch everything for the sake of watching. For full dramas if it doesn't grab me after max. 6-8 episodes, i'm dropping it, sometimes faster. But if the drama starts to be unwatchable idc what episode, I'm dropping either way 🤣 🤣

Omg I so hope it won't go in that direction because it will ruin it for me😭
But this drops on the 9th: https://kisskh.at/760693-ya-xi
