The FL actually explains this in more detail in episode 10. It’s essentially an extraordinary ability to naturally discern the finest tea, identify issues in cultivation if they arise, and so on. For viewers who see the FL as immature or insensitive, that’s a valid reading—everyone is absolutely entitled to their own opinion. C-dramas do have a long history of simping MLs and FLs skipping clear-cut apologies, so the frustration makes sense. That said, as far as FLs go, this one is actually pretty well written so far. She does acknowledge her mistakes, tries to understand the ML, and makes a genuine effort to support him. It may not come in the form of a textbook apology (which, fair, I also expected), but her actions still carry weight. Her abrupt, bossy personality isn’t accidental either—it’s literally what made the ML fall for her at the banquet in the first place. He doesn’t see her as perfect, and he isn’t flawless himself (even though I adore the guy). Is it realistic by real-life standards? Not really. But I do feel that many smaller moments—her honesty, boundaries, and their gradual growth—are being deliberately overlooked just to prove a point. And that’s fine too; different viewers will focus on different things, and that’s part of the fun of watching and discussing dramas.
I love how they show the little things that tells us more about the characters in the show. For example when LYS came home and hugged his mom and we see the mom's husband backing away letting them have their moment, and being overall very considerate towards LYS 🥹🥹🥹

Yes, I see the similarities as well. Especially when it comes to the relationship between the FL and Rong Yun Yin. Clearly the younger sister is acting out because the FL is not showing her enough affection and recognition. I bet if the FL would put more effort in that relationship, the sister will be her best supporter.

Definitely, they’re not going to lay all the cards on the table yet. And yes, the Yang guy is clearly a jerk to varying degrees. What bothers me more is the inconsistency though—early on, grandma said she’d let the FL choose, and now suddenly it’s “the elders must set her on the right path.” That shift feels very convenient.
Setting that aside, a lot of the conflict and animosity in the family could’ve been avoided if she actually treated them like family instead of piling all the favor onto one heir because of the “tea bone.” I genuinely hope there’s a deeper explanation for her behavior, but so far… it’s not looking great for her.
The grandma claiming the FL will “destroy” the Rong family by marrying the Yang dude is really getting on my nerves. As if she didn’t actively help create that mess herself by constantly playing favorites and making it painfully, mercilessly obvious. She basically fueled the sisters’ feud the whole time. I get the different era and nuances, but wow—the audacity.
