Can't speak about others, but I don’t have an issue with her voice, I love Esther. For me it’s more that some moments (especially the styling and certain behaviors) feel a bit too infantilizing. I know it’s a direction choice, but when the ML is radiating maturity and masculinity, that contrast can be kind of painful to watch for me personally. There’s feminine and softnerss, and then there’s childish — and so far I’m mostly feeling the latter.
I’m genuinely curious how old FLs character is supposed to be, because at times her behaviour feels very immature to me ( I was thinking 17-18 but she acts like 12) . The picky eating, avoiding certain foods (which is totally fine in itself, just sometimes the way it’s portrayed), some of the styling choices (not always, but occasionally), and especially how desperately she clings to the ML make it a bit hard for me to watch. I’m already having a tough time with the pseudo-sibling trope, so I’m really hoping her character gets some growth and maturity as the story goes on because I really want to love this 😢
