I understand your point about bringing up another drama in a comment section, but since MM is literally a spin-off of ALP, the mention of it is kind of inevitable. Also, just to clarify, when I mentioned "blindly worship," I was really referring to my own attitude toward my favorite dramas—I don’t mean to suggest anything about others’ opinions or how they engage with the shows. I’m a fan of both Ancient Love Poetry and Moonlight Mistique, but being a fan doesn’t mean I have to blindly worship every aspect of them. Critiquing characters or pointing out flaws doesn’t equal bashing—it’s called having standards and an opinion. Loving something doesn’t mean ignoring its imperfections; it means appreciating it while still being able to acknowledge where it can improve. That’s called being a mature fan.

It's cool. I mean we all have our opinions which don't always coincide and that is normal as long as it remains respectful.
I can't say I find BJ boring per se, because QM is also part of him, and I loved QM.
And I get it because I've watched ALP and loved it a lot, that is why I'm watching MM haha, but for 49 episodes of course there are bound to be some parts I really didn't like, and unfortunately for me it's the main leads moments, not all of course but some arks I was not a fan of. That absolutely doesn't mean I'm bashing a drama 😁

Exactly 👏 I'm sure a good portion of the MM viewers are here from or because of ALP (myself included ahahah) and both shows are amazing in their own magic ways and maybe MM will get more people to watch ALP, so that's always a plus, but I feel like it's inevitable that people will bring up ALP since this is a spinoff ......

To the die hard ALP fans out there - nobody is bashing that drama, please calm down. Like I said before, you can like a drama and still struggle with some parts of it. ALP was amazing, but it had things with which I struggled, but it's still an amazing drama. MM is a wonderful drama, but also, it has some parts I am not a fan of. It happens 🤷‍♀️

not necessarily, ALP is still a great drama, but not without flaws ( as well as MM, it also has them). You can still like a drama and struggle with some parts of it 🤷‍♀️

Yes, agreed 💯 FL is a good actress and I have nothing against her, but I just couldn't warm up to her as Shanggu, Xu Kai as Bai Ju - pretty boring tbh, AND they totally lost me with the last ark 🤦‍♀️

I get it, and the story will probably attempt doing that, but for me the writers went to far with her, they made her a very wicked person, like I find it hard to believe they'll make me like her, girl killed innocent people in very sadistic ways and was enjoying torturing her victims, so nope 😭😭😭

Oh I agree with you, the main leads were kind of a train-wreck for me 😭, maybe cause their story was super dragged out, for me personally I liked the main leads ark when the ML reincarnated and was this silly pure cutie 60K years later, but other than that it was hard to watch then, but I rolled because in my very early cdrama days and I was very patient then, now I'm very picky ahahaha TQ added so much life to whole drama for me, and YM as well, I loved them very much and they looked amazing together 🤩🤩🤩 I still can't believe ALP got 2 spin offs now 🤩🤩🤩

For real it does feel like a reunion, especially that I had no idea MDL existed when I watched ALP, and that Perseverance song is still one of my favourites to date 💜💜💜
Ikr? Like that would be such a messed up thing to do - reunite our cuties in their own story only for it to have a bad ending?! But I've read comments saying that Bai Lu said it was a HE in one of her interviews, so fingers crossed!! Indeed, I'm so glad they reunited cause I was manifesting it ever since 😭
