he's a natural charmer. every show he's been to, he seems to be loved very much by everyone. he once said 'it's hard not to like me' as a joke but seriously speaking it's actually true.

Anyone who has become his fan because of his acting knows how much talents and potentials he has to become big, like mega star big (like Hu Ge). Like i'm being serious, we don't have many actors with talents, assets and mindsets like him in the c industry. So seeing his potentials and youth being wasted by Iqiyi truly hurts. Youku and Tencent were much wiser at seeing his potentials and trusted him with important good roles, but Iqiyi... sigh
no disrespect at all but ZLH's acting skill can't be compared to Yuan. and he debuted way later but because he acted in a costume drama once with Bailu that now he has more traffic than Yuan. I truly hate Iqiyi for this, they're using ZY as a pawn to push their real prince. and many people fell for it.

Fans are more mad about his company always staying silent. no matter how much the fans have been complaining, no matter how much his reputation is tarnished, they never respond. It gives impression that they don't respect his fans, the well-being and reputation of their artists.
Iqiyi truly didn't treat him well in the past. they always give him bad scripts. The fact that it's Youku and Tencent that actually gave him high budget shows/good roles (Hidden Love, Golden Hairpin and WIK). Even with Handsome siblings, he got the role after failing 6 auditions by himself, not due to connections. Only until 2023, he got TWOT but that was because the producers insisted on having him. For SF4, big IP but outdated game and storyline (i heard rumor that he didn't even want to take this role at first), DNAD - we still know nothing about it but I suspect it's due to his good relationship with CCTV from Handsome sibling that gave him the role, not thanks to Iqiyi. Yeah so it's best for him to switch company. Tencent is much better and smarter with their resources for him even though he's not their actor.
He doesn't have a good costume drama till now. I think that's why he's still in the list of ' WAITING TO EXPLODE…
yes, that's why i'm so frustrated. When he was announced to play Li Zan, the reason why people got mad at him was because he was stereotyped to only play in modern dramas with young love and school theme, just because he was so good in Hidden Love and Our Secrets (plus having young look). Even with the high popularity of Hidden Love in abroad, this drama also has bad rep in China tbh so many drama fans still don't know well of his ability, and then they listened to all the black hacking about him from other fandoms -> people think he's bad at acting and having an attitude problem. that combined with his company useless and never clarify any bad rumors about him. It's a miracle he still has such a strong fandom now :(

Finally someone who gets it. exactly. Costume drama characters usually have more depth and back story so it give the actors rooms for creativity too. It kills me inside whenever I watch a good costume drama but the actors in it are so stiff, dull and can't emote well during certain scenes. And when I think about if it was Yuan, it would be much different and he would certainly kill these emotions. 😠(yes our Yuan is very good with emotional scenes)
