With modern drama, the percentage of good scripts is even lower though. Did you watch YangYang's recent drama? that's the average script from modern dramas lol, not Hidden Love (a gem in a sea of bad scripts). 40% of good scripts are still achievable and our boy's acting skills aren't inferior to anyone including the most traffic actors like Xiao Zhan. He could still get them (like the Chang Geng role) if he wants.

When I say his potentials in costume dramas is endless, i truly mean it:

ikr, and the way people have been downplaying his costume roles, he would absolutely shock everyone if he ever takes on a good role.

if you think costume drama scripts are average, it's because he has never got a good script before. For modern dramas, he actually got the best scripts with 2 of best ML characters in modern c-drama history lol (Li Zan and Duan Jiaxu). So we can't really compared.

That's why i'm so dumbfounded he is called a iqiyi prince but never got good costume scripts from them when other actors in his age range get them frequently.

i don't care about that drama in general, never found D's acting good either so i'm actually fine with Y not joining the drama. I'd rather him being paired with actresses who can match him with acting.

TWOT is a modern drama so you can look forward to it. It's long overdue for him to take on a costume drama (with an actual good role, not the low budget cheap scripts he had before except Little Fish and Chang Geng), c yuanbaos are all waiting for it too. non-fans are thinking he fits modern than costume dramas so i want him to prove them otherwise :(

i think so too, and the way he's been keeping his weight low. i watched his interview before that he was so upset that his face looked round in one of the costume dramas lol

call me petty but i agree with the twitter post if it's about her. add in CXX and Dilraba too. I hate their fandoms to the core and everything they did to tarnish Y's public image.
