Whenever a drama is adpated, it dosent mean they will follow everything, adpating a novel means some parts will…
Fair enough. Often fans don't mind creative changes when they're good. You'll hear complaints when the changes are unnecessary and objectively worse than the source material.
I can't believe you guys just watched a heartbreaking episode about Wen Yifan's trauma, but all you guys are talking…
The reason people are saying "poor San Yan" is because the writers made the poor choice of ruining the FL’s character development just for the sake of adding unnecessary angst. She went from a sympathetic character we all rooted for to someone frustrating, cowardly, and annoying. When she ran away the first time, it didn’t solve anything. So, for her to do it again makes absolutely no sense. Good character development would show her facing her trauma differently this time, but instead, they threw all of that away just for pointless angst. If you can’t see how poorly written these last two episodes are, then I don’t know what to say.

The problem isn’t that changes were made; it’s that they were changed to something poorly executed and downright stupid. If the changes you make don’t enhance the original material, then don’t make them at all.
Same i’m a bit mixed on it, its good angst though 🤣 like on one hand I get why she ran away, on the other…
It doesn’t make any sense. The writers decided to derail Yi Fan’s character development just to add unnecessary angst. Yi Fan’s journey of coming back and trying to move on with her life—slowly reclaiming everything—is the kind of heroine you can really root for. But the Yi Fan who runs away again, just when we thought she was strong enough to confront her fears, comes off as a frustrating, cowardly character that’s hard to like. Whoever wrote this script is a moron.
Based on the comments, this director should really stick to directing and leave the screenwriting to someone else…
It’s absolute nonsense, all for the sake of adding pointless angst. We empathized with Yi Fan because we understood that it would take time for her to face her struggles. The story set up this journey of growth, where she’s getting stronger, reclaiming her life, her love, and her friendships. As the audience, we were invested in her character arc and rooting for her progression. But then—out of nowhere—it all gets yanked away. Everything we thought was real turns out to be a mirage, and she’s back at square one. No longer is she the heroine facing her fears and growing stronger; she’s just a coward who ran away from them again. It’s beyond frustrating.
Exactly! They basically destroyed her character at the end. Such a stupid writing decision.
Instead of having the audience root for the heroine for triumphing over her past trauma, they regressed her character. Yi Fan has basically learned NOTHING and has regressed. This is how you destroy a character. The audience are no longer rooting for her. They're annoyed by her.
The decision to have Yi Fan run away again completely destroys her character progression. After her ordeal, she chose to return, to reclaim her lost love, and to take control of her life after 8 YEARS. San Yang has consistently shown that he’s protective and dependable, proving himself to be someone she can rely on. When her past caught up with her, was the moment where the heroine, with the support of her love and friends, should have confronted her trauma and evolved as a character. But instead, these writers decided to have her *run away again.* Her character has regressed, and now we’re back at square one.
At this point, she’s no longer a complex, flawed character we can sympathize with. She’s just a coward, and it’s incredibly frustrating. When you destroy a character like that, the audience stopped rooting for her, and instead, they’re annoyed by her constant cowardice and poor choices. Why? Who thought this was a good idea? It’s such a frustrating, pointless writing decision.
Her leaving him again is just ridiculous. While I understand her trauma, they actually made me hate Yi Fan a bit here. Like WTF!? What's the point of this bullshit? Also, Sang Yan is one of the most unrealistic ML ever portrayed in a romance. This level of patience is simply laughable. I actually hate this drama now for this bullshit.
What a wonderful love story. In some dramas, you feel like one partner is so much more in love and the entire thing feels one-sided and frustrating. Here you could tell that these two are madly in love with each other. The FL is so proactive here. I wouldn't be surprised if she gets down on one knee and proposes at the end. She's madly in love with her doctor. lmao
The great thing about the original story is there were a lot of villains. But the FL just mowed them down, one…
Maybe she will slowly progress. While I don't like a doormat FL, I don't like a Mary Sue either. It's ok if she doesn't have all the answers right away. That's what character progression is for.
