Whoever wrote that crap was dealing with some deep seated psychological issues. I'm glad I dropped the novel.

Yeah, I can't root for these characters, even if they're supposed to be protagonists.

I like Cdramas. I just hate shitty adaptations. Most adaptions I've seen are mediocre at best, and I will keep criticizing them.

I know the story. I read the novel. But I don't faith that it will be adapted properly based on all of the adaptions that are routinely screwed up. So, chances are, they will screw this one up, too.

I hope it's good. But I've lost faith in novel to drama adaptations. They're rarely good. They'll sanitize many parts and add unnecessary plot points just to piss off the audience, then rush the ending.

If it's a bad adaptation, I will criticize it. If that hurts your feelings, then don't read my comments.

I wish all xianxias did this. Cut back on the fillers and give us one full episode of happy ending.

This is NOT hard screenwriters! If the work you're adapting has a happy ending, it's okay to reduce the number of filler scenes and episodes and dedicate a large portion of your final episode to the happy ending. No one will ever complain that you've spent too much time showing the lead couple's happy lives.

They'll rate your show higher because, after subjecting them to all the angst, betrayals, breakups, misunderstandings, and irritating or obsessive second leads, you're giving them more than just two minutes of the main couple finally being happy together as a reward. These novels ALWAYS include extra chapters after the main story wraps up. Why not dedicate an episode to exploring those chapters, which are always packed with joyful and cute moments?

Yeah, Legned of Shenli's ending was good. It was even better in the novel.

We do. Xianxia directors need a new direction. They should cut back on the filler scenes and instead focus on give people at least half an episode of the happy ending. This is why Love and Redemption's ending will always be one of my favorites.

Chapter 62

“Zhao Ming…” her voice softly sounded, heavily falling on his heart.

“That day I told you I came from chaos, and that the life and death of all beings meant nothing to me. So you hid it from me, went to the Celestial Palace alone, facing death alone, thinking you were no different from other beings in my heart.”

“But Zhao Ming, I didn’t understand then. You’re different from all other beings in this world. I don’t care about others, I only care about you.”

“I waited for you for ten thousand years, searched for you for ten thousand years, just to find you and tell you this in person.”

“Whether as Ah Zhu or Ling’er, for thousands of years, I want to be with you, never parting in life or death.”

“Do you understand now?”

Her response was a warm embrace. Behind her was his solid chest, his hands covering the back of her hands, his fingertips caressing the peach blossoms on the mirror. Each petal was a thought of love, quietly growing in a place unknown to others, just waiting to bloom in this life.

I'm disappointed they didn't stick with this ending, or at least add that scene verbatim. Pearl's words were so good. Novel spoiler below

I agree. This is a superb adaptation. Novel to drama adaptation are usually very subpar.

I like your optimism, but you're putting too much faith in these directors. They're notorious for messing up adaptations. Even if the novel doesn't focus on the love triangle trope, they will force it in there to satisfy the CDrama audience.
