I watched ZJM & SWL latest sitdown interview about SOM and both mentioned that Gu Man was strict about the lines from her novel. Gu Man cared for what her novel fans wanted so she gave them just it. Those famous lines from the novel was repeated in the drama. Both actors are known to have exceptional line deliveries. Even while the 4 member cast was watching snippets from episodes, both leads would recite their lines before the characters spoke on screen making the other 2 castmates in awe of how both still remembered their lines. ZJM also mentions that Gu Man was behind the camera throughout filming and would correct their pronouciations because North and South chinese have different pronounciations. Thanks to GuMan, SOM was a great sweet unforgettable romance drama.

I think Lin Yusen is actually very lucky too. He was boring before she came into his life. He can only be a perfect boyfriend, husband and partner because she is a perfect girlfriend, wife and partner herself. The saying goes in life "if you want a good man, you have to be good yourself". He was older so he had to be more mature than her. But for her age at 22, her character made the vast changes. Both were perfect for each other.

They are doing that because they are not the main platform for SOM.

I think the time jump was only necessary for the business side of things to make it more realistic. Gu Man may have done some research into solar energy for her to add it on to her script.

I found myself with tears rolling down my cheek in the scene at the hospital when she was letting out everything she felt towards her dad and his treatment towards her. That was so sad.

He actually never stopped loving her. It said he mostly forgot her because he stopped going to places where she would turn up and lept away from his uni friends, he didnt want to hear about her. And thats good because it helps him stay away from her.

In regards to XZ, Gu Man kept the story to her novel. In the extras in her novel, after 10 years, he had not moved on. He followed her career online and the developed of her business while he became a billionnaire himself. He had 2 relationships but didn't fully love them. He did not get over XG.
