Please stop torturing the ML. I JUST CANNOT TAKE IT ANYMORE. Its painful to see him trying to do the right thing while people take advantage of him...and the woman he loves...just accuses him before he even does anything and doesn't believe in him at all. While I understand the FL, CAN WE GET SOME POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT. That sister plot where she harassed him was soo unnecessary. She is giving ONE SIDED PSYCHO LOVER VIBES.
OMG.... I WANNA PULL MY HAIR OUT 😭😤 HE HAS BEEN WRONGED TO DEATH.... Why is the situation turning sooo bad for him? Can the script writer let this man breathe? I see him die a little bit EVERY TIME she doesn't trust him or accuses him of something he didn't do in advance...and then, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Wtf ....
Idk 🤷♀️ why you are annoyed but she is deliberately mocking historical clingy mistresses. Its a parody!…
This style of voice modulation is a part of the culture. She is parodying the courtesans or noble ladies of that time. I can't even count the number of times I have heard "DIAAN XIAAA" in this voice in a gazillion dramas. The voice modulation is also pretty common for many chinese opera styles. Its actually not odd at all despite the fact that she is deliberately going overboard with the gestures but I can understand why it might seem odd if you are used to hearing less tonal languages...e.g. korean which is pretty flat! Chinese language and culture is quite different
I mean, chinese make top notch dramas but ruin romance dramas by making them 36 episodes or 40 episodes. Ideally,…
New guidelines by the govt will hopefully change that. Whenever we get 24 episodes or less from big productions, they absolutely kill it. It happened with reset and the double...and there's many more
while I’m enjoying this, I feel I’m watching the same episode over and over again. There’s not really been…
I mean, chinese make top notch dramas but ruin romance dramas by making them 36 episodes or 40 episodes. Ideally, romance dramas should only be 24 episodes and if possible, only 20 episodes. 20 episodes format is ideal for perfect pacing
The way I have to fight with myself not to mute the scenes where they have SYM act cute, that little voice she…
Idk 🤷♀️ why you are annoyed but she is deliberately mocking historical clingy mistresses. Its a parody! I LOVE THE CUTELY ANNOYING ACT. Its a part of asian culture and its often used to tease people as well.
Yes I am really curious too! I went through rednote but I couldn't notice anything.
Its nothing but eurocentricism. These were normal eyes ...even back in the days. His eyes are smaller maybe compared to the double eyelid surgery and artificially enhanced ones. His eyes are gorgeous and he emotes so well
He was good but there were so many amazing performances you should watch more shows.
Yu ning had a good performance in his genre. Squid game was a completely different genre and the season was disappointing. People undermine how difficult it is to act in romance and romantic comedy. Just to give you an example, Kang Ha Neul nailed his character in squid game (which was last year) but he failed for me in romance genre this year in tastefully yours. It was the most anticipated drama and yes, you could say that the writing was bad but its not like POB was perfectly written. There's better written ones out there. For me, one of the best korean actors couldn't create chemistry with his FL. I hated POB in last 4 episodes but I stayed for the chemistry between LYN and all his co stars. His second drama this year, which is a romantic comedy/parody is also pretty enjoyable. Kang ha Neul is a theatre actor..and i fully understand what you mean by "acting performance" but it is what it is. LYN, despite being a traffic star was a standout in the genre.
As for the other korean actor, Cha Eun woo...I mean, I am scared that his fans are gonna chew me out but his popularity doesn't stem from acting but his looks... That isn't the case with LYN who was actually NOT considered to be a visual fit for mainstream romance roles. I am the right person to assess that because I have watched every cha eun woo drama and dropped all of them. Almost all of his co actors overshadowed him and that is also not the case with LYN, he brings the traffic for his chemistry and holds his own in front of co stars and senior actors
Would he nail other genres? Probably not...probably..idk..but he is pretty good with mainstream romance/romantic comedy.
Side note : Story of Ming lan, legend of Fu Yao (didn't like the second half but the acting was solid) and the legendary "Nirvana in Fire" are better in terms of acting and storyline than some historical dramas you mentioned but ...no average drama fans have the patience to finish them. These dramas happened when people had better attention span.
I have tried watching korean thrillers but those aren't my thing... I tend to gravitate more towards japanese anime (masters of this genre according to me) or western thrillers
He was good but there were so many amazing performances you should watch more shows.
Not alm modern cdramas are ass. Reset is my favorite even though I generally stick to british/American thrillers. These are different GENRES. You cannot compare a thriller/slice of life to a comedy or romance. Most kdramas majorly failed in the historical romance genre for me. Liu yuning is popular because he performed well in a popular genre. Prisoner of beauty performed better than soo many kdramas I have seen in the same genre in MANY YEARS even though its not my fav cdrama of the year. There's better written wuxia out there...but the acting was good. Kdramas had nothing to give me in this genres and the ones that they had...were boring in terms of acting performance as well as writing.
Modern korean romance also failed for me this year in comparison. Korean webtoon style of acting...to me, is not as appealing as the chinese novel based maniacs.
I found Guardian of Dafeng actors to be farr better than the study group actors or even undercover high school actors...and both dramas had super animated action scenes, comedy and similar themes even though one was in a xianxia setting and the other was...in a webtoon style of setting. The thing is, you can't even compare the chinese dramas to korean ones because koreans don't have THE ENTIRE GENRE THAT CHINESE HAVE in the form of wuxia and Xianxia.
I admit that Squid games was not my thing at all so I didn't watch it...I am not into multiple seasons and they did f up in the last season like I predicted.
As far as pure thrillers are considered, I haven't watched any korean or chinese dramas in that genre this year as I prefer American and British thrillers over both.
I am getting disappointed in fl , I can understand why she's against NH. But at this point she can see script…
Its 40 episodes. ...if she changes her mind THIS QUICKLY, it would be a 24 episode drama. But its 40 episodes so I guess we are gonna get very slow and organic growth
The FL is so stupid, I have not watched a drama with such a stupid FL for a while now, how can she be so stupid,…
She isn't stupid at all...this is comedy. Its not sherlock holmes. The FL, so far, has managed to do all things right except one thing...and the plot armor is preventing her from recognizing the person. Besides, she's the lead heroine in the real world...at a young age. So, clearly, she is doing well
Why is the situation turning sooo bad for him? Can the script writer let this man breathe?
I see him die a little bit EVERY TIME she doesn't trust him or accuses him of something he didn't do in advance...and then, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Wtf ....
Please...ENOUGH OF TORTURING THIS GUY. ENOUGH!
