After all that the characters endured in the two dramas, why would the director end the story with the two enemies…
Brooo I honestly have no idea what they were thinking 😭 it feels like the writers are treating the viewers stupid and like they’re writing a children’s story… there’s barely any logic and the plot holes are everywhere.
brooo I honestly feel really bad for all the actors… like I was so excited for Huangyang Tian Tian to get her first lead role and especially for Princess agents. Like this novel is literally the starting of my journey of chinese dramas and this is what I get presented with. Honestly, I feel like she should’ve picked something she’s more comfortable with for her first lead. I’ve seen her do really well in cutesy roles such as in Perfect Match, and that honestly would’ve been a much better start for her. Also, I genuinely love all the cast like Li Yun Rui gave an absolutely magnificent performance in Blossom, and Xia Meng was great in Fated Hearts but this drama didn't do justice to any of them. It kind of just kept them there to move the plot forward. I feel like this drama has put a stain on the acting portfolio of all these actors. I’m not really a fan of how the director handled this story either… the pacing and overall tone feel kind of off, and the colour grading of the story is a bit weird and broo don't get me start off with the ending like was this actually necessary. Is this really that hard to give us with a Happy ending??
please be good i actually have so many expectations from this drama. Like over the past two years, I have absolutely lost all my interest in watching korean dramas but if this is good till the end i may actually return back...
I feel like the reason we’re struggling to enjoy this drama is, firstly, because of the young age of HYTT. I understand she was chosen since she played the younger Chu Qiao in Princess Agents, and I also understand that in the original novel Chu Qiao was meant to be a young girl. However, after seeing Zhao Liying in the first season, it becomes really difficult to transition to this portrayal. Her face still looks too young for the role, and because of that, I’m not experiencing the same intensity, rage, and emotional depth that I felt while watching Princess Agents.
Another reason is that I keep comparing her portrayal of Chu Qiao with Zhao Liying’s. Zhao Liying has incredibly expressive eyes that convey so much emotion on their own, which makes her performance hard to match.
Thirdly, the fight scenes in this drama are not as strong or impactful compared to those in Princess Agents.
Honestly, it’s not really the actress’s fault—it’s more about the lasting impression and high expectations we have from the original. Honestly, I feel like the only way to properly watch this drama is to treat it as a separate work. Don't think about PA and watch it from a new perspective.
ZLY is such a great actress. Meanwhile HYTT is literally learning. She's way too young and her past roles were…
Yeah, I feel the same way as you. This role just doesn’t really match her persona. Honestly, I feel like her role in Perfect Match suited her much better—it matched her image and strengths more naturally.
Chu Qiao, on the other hand, is supposed to be a general and an assassin, but HYTT is just way too young and isn’t able to fully portray the wisdom and depth that the character requires.
And the armor too—it honestly looks really flimsy, which makes it harder to take the character seriously.

I feel like this is one of those dramas I will never get sick of. It is so refreshing and healing. Watching this actually made me want to care more about my health. I myself even started drinking more herbal tea.
