Back to the Start
A refreshing and clever concept that parallels parts of Krist and Singto's real life stories and focuses on the aftermath of a breakup and a couple's attempt to reconcile, rather than developing a blooming romance. It's a more mature and unusual approach of a love story, especially within the BL genre. Set against the backdrop of the media industry, the series also address some of the issues public figures face, giving you an insight on how the industry works.
I wouldn't say, it's an overly dramatic show. It has romance, both funny and heartbreaking moments and a sweet nostalgia that takes you back to SOTUS and the early days of BL. Singto and Krist's chemistry is still superb, as if no years have passed and it's fascinating to see how both have evolved and matured as actors over the years.
My main issue with the series, was that sometimes the writting felt overflowing and choppy. I just wished the script lingered more on exploring some matters that held considerable weight in the story, instead of brushing them off fast and introducing subplots that offered too little to the story or the characters.
Having said that, I will recommend this show, because in spite of any flaws, it's truly fulfilling and satisfying to watch, and it's also something different.
