Infantilized adult alcoholic

So here’s your synopsis - it’s in my title itself. What we have here is a grown woman acting like a child who is eager to “grow up into an adult,” trying desperately hard to be cute, while downing one beer/sake after another like a pot bellied alcoholic! Now and then she eats some food- but the food has been shoved aside as the main attraction since season 2.

Of course, I don’t mind watching someone eat delicious food, but keep the “personality” of the person eating to a minimum or tolerable please. If she were just a quiet lady who enjoyed mindful eating, making the food the star of the show, I would have loved this series much more. Stop trying so hard to make this woman cute and focus more on the food and atmosphere, instead waiters staring creepily at her with “omg you’re sooo cute, let’s get you some free food!”

It’s obvious why this series has so many seasons- it’s free promotion for businesses- surely they would even chip in as sponsors. It’s quite brilliant as a business idea but, this was done way better in Solo Katsu Joshi no Susume- now that was a personality in a food drama that was truly admirable. Not this Wakako baby wannabe.
