It was really just a problem with that drama.
SWL and ZJY’s drama on MG which aired before it, had a proper air-date announcement and really good promotion in advance.
I was on Weibo at the time and I saw LFY or Wild Dog Bone(chinese name) trending almost every day, both before and after it aired.

Yes, she’s blind in this drama too, but not all the time.
I’m not sure how they’ll handle it in the actual drama but based on the trailer, she doesn’t seem to be blind for most of the story.

Yeah! The momentum between all of them is really good too.
I think the scriptwriter did a great job bringing every character into the story naturally. None of them feels forced, and they all contribute to the drama’s progression.

I feel like many of the comments here are actually positive about her.
They gave her such a high-pitched voice to emphasize her cheerful personality but from what we’ve seen, it really wasn’t necessary. She’s already cute, funny and cheerful without sounding so loud and noisy.
But when you think about real life, we all have that one loud friend who’s still so much fun to hang out with, right? She makes the drama feel much more lively. And in MTH’s life, FZ is such a precious friend.

I have a little hope that they won’t randomly drop the drama like CZY’s current one lol and that we’ll actually get proper promotion and an announced air date.

Just look at Xiao Ding’s drama, they announced the air date almost a week in advance?

Yep! Apart from the director issue, which we all know about LOL, I have no idea how good the editing team for this production is.

Like you said, it’s a fantasy drama, so it needs a lot of CGI. Whether they use AI or regular CGI, it still shouldn’t look choppy. iQiyi really needs to do a better job controlling the quality of its dramas.

I hope so too but we won’t really know until it’s released.
Maybe if they drop a trailer around the wrap-up, we’ll get a better sense of how the drama will turn out.
For now, I’m keeping my expectations low 😅

I don’t know why but I could never bring myself to hate him from the start. He’s more like a grumpy, old-fashioned grandpa who complains about everything 😂
At least he doesn’t seem to have any hidden villain agenda.

I understand what you mean, and yes, CZY still has room to improve as an actor. However, this character is supposed to behave this way.

He possesses sharp judgment and decisiveness, handling both state affairs and personal matters with calculated precision. Although he can be strategically patient in court, he is also stubborn, passionate, and known for his fierce temper. He is not someone who remains calm all the time, his emotions, especially his anger, are often clearly visible.

I think CZY is trying to portray the emperor’s emotions in a way that is similar to how they are described in the novel. However, whether the performance feels convincing ultimately depends on how well the actor expresses those emotions.

And he does show other expressions too, especially in the later episodes, once he becomes more familiar and comfortable with the FL.

It’s probably better not to get too involved in the mess of C-ent.
Just stay low-key and like our CZY🙂

Yes, exactly! On top of that, it takes highly skilled professional editors and visual-effects artists to make green-screen scenes look realistic and convincing.
That level of work usually requires a top-tier production team or even movie-level production quality.

This production company is still quite new to drama production, so the editing can feel a little choppy at times, although the drama is still watchable.
All the desert scenery was also created using green screens rather than filmed on location because they apparently couldn’t afford to shoot there even though China has so many beautiful desert landscapes.

So honestly, the overall quality is about what you would expect from a production team with such limited budget and experience.
