I really want him to do a modern drama for his next project, and the rumor might actually turn out to be true. But instead of a typical modern idol romance, it sounds like he may be going for a more serious drama this time.
If that’s the direction he wants to take, then he probably wants to keep challenging himself and growing as an actor 🥹 We’ll just keep cheering for him and hope he gets a good script, a strong production team, and a role that gives him the chance to show even more of what he can do.
There’s been a new rumor since yesterday that CZY has withdrawn from the rumored YZ drama to focus on pursuing more serious roles and exploring a different direction in his acting career. And today, there’s another rumor that the drama team has already contacted another actor.
If it’s true, I think it’s actually good for both sides. CZY has always seemed willing to look for new opportunities and challenge himself with different types of roles, while YZ’s drama can find an actor who is more suitable for what they’re looking for.
Anyway, it’s still a little bit of a pity that CZY might not get the chance to star with BL this time🥹 I really wanted to see them together! But maybe that opportunity will come sometime in the future. Sometimes it’s just about timing and fate, I guess 😅

Although it’s still just a rumor and there’s no guarantee it will actually happen, if it does, I’ll be really glad that he isn’t sticking only to mainstream idol dramas. And if this really is a government-backed project meant to honor a real-life hero, I think it could be such a good opportunity for him to grow and challenge himself as an actor once again after DNAD, even if this type of drama may not be as commercially popular as idol dramas. He doesn’t seem to care too much about maintaining his popularity or to maintain idol image. The fact that he was willing to cut off his beautiful silky hair for the sake of a role already says a lot about how seriously he takes acting, So if they really did choose him for a project like this, I think it would be an honor for him as well.
Anyway... I still don’t want to get my hopes up too much, especially judging from his agency and how often they fail to do their job properly. 😅 I’ve lowered my expectations so much that I’m honestly fine as long as we get two dramas from him a year, regardless of the genre. Meanwhile, CZY barely take proper overseas vacations. Most of his international trips are for work, like Paris Fashion Week or brand events. Even when he does take a break, he usually stays somewhere in Asia and then goes straight back to China to spend time with his mom and A-Zan.
He really seems like such a simple guy and doesn’t have much idol baggage at all. You rarely see him going on glamorous European vacations, dressing up just to take beautiful photos and then posting them for fans. He travels, enjoys his time quietly and goes home.
And then there was that Korea trip. From what fans are saying, his staff arranged for him to meet the Korean idol group she personally follows and film a challenge with them during his vacation.....Like... this was his vacation.
