From the clips I’ve seen of FH, he had to recreate the same performance and re-imagine the entire scene again in a small studio. He really put so much effort into it, truly admirable for someone born in Shenzhen with a Mandarin–Cantonese accent. Dubbing is not easy when you grow up with a regional accent, let alone delivering powerful voice acting, which is why many actors from this area usually rely on voice actors.
As for JSWP, his voice in the clips is already strong even without dubbing. I really hope he’ll dub it himself too.
Speaking of accents, I’m always fascinated by how some Hollywood actors who were born in England can speak like native Americans in the movies. That level of professionalism is truly impressive. When I later saw clips of them speaking with their real accents, I was like, “Have you been lying to me this whole time?” 😂

Otherwise, no one might have discovered that he’s actually quite good at it. Even he wasn’t sure he could do it at first but CZY always tries to improve himself. Apart from all the actors and actresses, the screenwriter is the real MVP, if you ask me. Most historical chinese dramas have slow pacing and rely on filler plots to stretch the episode count but FH is different. The screenwriter clearly put a great deal of effort into the story and some elements feel truly refreshing, things we don’t often see in political costume dramas.
Ofc, credit also goes to the director who brought everything together with excellent storytelling. The costume design is very well done too. I’m glad that CZY had the opportunity to work with such a good production team. LQ is beautiful and elegant and she convincingly portrays the female general role. She’s a very good leading lady for Yuanyuan and he can learn a lot from working with her. Not to mention, both FD are harmonized to protect the show together, So the rumor that Yuanyuan and Yuanbao are always fighting over first billing isn’t really true. We respect them as long as they also respect us.
The only disappointing part overall is iQiyi which ignored and buried such a good drama. Yet the very drama they overlooked climbed back into the Top 5 on the Yunhe chart after two months, just like FSG coming back from the dead after the villain tried to bury him in FH 😂
