It was all just rumors and smear campaigns, CZY himself never said or did anything wrong. People hated him simply because of what they heard online especially those ordering issue. Surprising, right? 🙁 (And now this issue happens everywhere with the rising star LOL )

On top of that, she never screened the production teams he worked with. Almost all the teams he joined were unprofessional.
Thank God some of his projects had good directors and screenwriters, so those turned out well.

So it’s better not to believe everything you see online until there’s an official announcement.
The rumored cast list keeps changing in many melons which is why CZY’s fans always say they won’t believe anything until it’s announced.
Still, personally, I’d love to see him take on a modern romance drama next, he already has three costume dramas waiting to come out next year (CD, JSWP, TGH).

Censorship is also one of the reasons Chinese dramas are less innovative and keep relying on the same tropes. They produce a huge number of dramas but it’s hard to find ones with truly original stories. Many are adapted from books or web novels with similar plots.

By the way, I want him to take on a modern romance drama with an innovative storyline or a sci-fi series like Netflix’s 3 Body Problem, which was adapted from a Chinese novel. This is the kind of story they should be adapting into dramas!
