There were people on X said that ' i liked czy who is not so much popular in previous years ,but when his traffic…
That’s one of the reasons I left X platform. There were too many annoying people, and it was hard to avoid toxic comments, so I left for my own peace of mind. If I want to know about CZY updates, I’ll go to Weibo to get the info directly from Chinese sources. Weibo can be toxic too, but what can I do? I admire a Chinese actor, and I can’t help it 😅 Sometimes, I blame CZY for it. He made my peaceful life harder than it was before 🤣🤣 like...CZY!!! you!!! 🤣
The reason some people don’t like him anymore because of his fanbase is ridiculous. And Chinese Yuanbao is so low-key, just like you mentioned. They don’t want to get involved in any drama or start fan wars (same as me..I’m more of an introvert), while I often see fan wars happening constantly on Weibo. It’s like... why don’t you guys just focus on your own fave? Why pay attention to another artist and start unnecessary conflicts? I’ve seen artist studios suing some artist big fan accounts so often, it’s such a mess over there 😑
not a fan of these kinds of genres with no romance trope so I’m not necessarily excited for this drama but it’s…
Acting in movies typically requires strong support from a reputable agency that can connect the actor with film directors, producers, and other key figures in the industry. Alternatively, being with an agency that has subsidiaries involved in movie production can also be helpful. With his current agency, which is relatively weak, it’s difficult for him to secure movie roles unless he’s either extremely popular or has received a significant drama award....
However, extreme popularity doesn’t necessarily guarantee strong ticket sales. What really matters is the actor's acting skills, which can engage the public. Audiences don’t care about popularity alone, they want quality. If the film doesn’t meet their expectations, they won’t pay to see it.

I completely agree with you. When CZY took on the role in DNAD, many yuanbao were concerned for several reasons. Acting alongside veteran actors requires not only strong acting skills but also courage, especially for a rising star with less experience in this genre. Without those skills, he could easily face criticism from both Chinese netizens and audiences. Additionally, maintaining the "pretty boy" image in a realistic drama is difficult, as these dramas require minimal makeup to appear authentic. CZY was brave to take on the challenge, and I truly admire him for that. Fortunately, Chinese audiences liked the drama, as the TV ratings over 2 on CVB..and its extensive re-broadcast more than 10 rounds across the country on both TV and satellite within 4 months. This achievement marks a significant milestone for him as an actor and paves the way for future roles in various genres. So no one dares to mock him about TV rating anymore as this is not easy to get even by the most popular stars.
In contrast, some stars rely on starring in popular idol dramas whether ancient or modern where heavy makeup ensures they always look their best on screen. Some of them don’t even dare to appear without makeup or take on more realistic roles for fear of losing their popularity. But how can they improve their acting careers if their primary concern is simply looking good in every drama?
I fully support CZY’s decision to widen his acting career by taking on different types of roles. It shows that he’s not overly focused on maintaining his popularity or being typecast in the same genre repeatedly.
It's from light on series and suspense drama...It's normal to have 12 eps
It's too short for me to see my CZY in the drama 😭. But on the positive side, this could help him grow in his acting career, and he might start filming more dramas in the second half of the year....hehehehe
We don't need someone who liked about his anti post , to be in drama with him for popularity. How could you see…
I got you, I still don't understand why she did that before. But no hate here.
Anyway, it's likely that JX will play his older sister. I'm not entirely sure, but it seems pretty certain to me, especially since the plot doesn’t involve a love interest but siblings and is purely a suspense drama . Plus, iQIYI's light on mini-series typically feature veteran actors rather than rising stars. It is quite good that they pick CZY to play one.
also apparently fandom don’t like wcr because of some imaginary czy anti post she supposed liked many years…
I don’t see any decline in his resources compared to last year. He has 4 new business shoots and 2 brand events this month, which are considered to have more business value than last year. Additionally, he started filming a new drama immediately after finishing the previous one.
Actually, I’d prefer if he took more rest after finishing filming, but that’s not our CZY we know. If he’s not filming a drama, he’ll likely join a variety show, but I think shooting a drama is definitely better, LOL.
My only concern is the quality of iQIYI’s new drama. The director doesn’t have a strong reputation when it comes to suspense dramas, according to some marketing accounts. He was the director of the mini drama "Tell No One", starring Li Yi Tong, last year. I cross-checked the drama’s quality on YouTube, and while it's difficult to judge, DNAD definitely stands out more in terms of picture quality and cinematography.
hmm new melon saying fl for this drama is now wangchuran? doubt this is true though, wcr already has a melon with…
Filming for 75 days would span half of April (rumor has it, it’s set to begin on April 18th), as well as the entire months of May and June, which would make for a tight schedule for her. If she would start shooting the new drama right away.
hmm new melon saying fl for this drama is now wangchuran? doubt this is true though, wcr already has a melon with…
The rumor about WCR surfaced today after a marketing account asked whether it’s possible for FL to be Wang Chu Ran. While it would be great if CZY and WCR could collaborate, BUT I don’t think WCR would be joining the drama based on the character setup. However, it could be a possibility with Jiang Xin, as the drama centers around the Chen siblings, who are involved in the petrochemical industry. And as you mentioned WCR will have the drama with the other guy.
The main characters in this drama are as follows:
Chen Ying (27 years old): The accountant at the petrochemical plant. Jiang Xin is likely to play this role, although she might be considered a bit too old for the character. WCR also wouldn’t be playing the older sister to CZY.
Chen Shannan (22 years old): A character with strong professional skills and analytical abilities born into petrochemical family. I think CZY will take on this role.
It seems there would be no love interest just the pure suspense drama with only 12 episodes.
But, don’t trust me just yet..let’s wait for the official announcement! 😉
The rumor about CZY starring in a new suspense drama where he plays a sibling to Jiang Xin seems likely, but it's better to wait for the official announcement. I’m also hoping to see CZY take on a serious-themed drama again, like DNAD. However, it's said to be a very short drama, only 12 episodes 😭. I wish it were longer..maybe at least 25 episodes? It would be great if this were a CCTV drama, as that would ensure a higher quality production. I’m just not sure I can trust the quality of iQiyi alone 😑
It looks like Zhou Siyue, my April boyfriend comes back to live again 🥹 He still looks very young wearing this college style 😆 Can he shoot more idol school drama with this look? I saw in WB's post that he will attend Celine's party on April 10th. All of his outfits today are by Celine. It's great to see him collaborating with Celine again. 😊
Because TFF is on airing now.Youku even has advertising space on their platform for Hidden Love, and this two-year-old…
The funny thing is, during the airing of Hidden Love, there were so many negative reviews and articles coming from YXH accounts, discouraging viewers from watching it. Many people believed those reviews and assumed the drama wasn’t good without even giving it a chance. However, some viewers still decided to watch and found that the drama was actually very enjoyable—thanks to the great chemistry between the actors/actresses, the natural acting, and how the director handled the story. (I admit, the script might not be that strong since it’s mainly a love story with no serious plot.) Despite all the negativity, the drama managed to break 10,000 and has continued to attract more viewers. Hidden Love is now ranked #3 on Youku's overall drama site (List of Dramas 1-300).
Some viewers are just watching it now and realizing how beautiful the drama is. They just wonder why they believed YXH in the first place. Yes, you’ve been fooled! 😂 You should have experienced it yourself by watching it first before deciding whether you like it or not.
The Chinese domestic entertainment is so funny, with so much bias towards certain dramas. In contrast, K-dramas seem to get more fair reviews from Korean audiences (in my opinion). They don't have the same weird competition among actors' fanbases like in China. (I’m not talking about K-pop idols, where the competition is high.) K-netizens usually just hate everyone, LOL.
Because TFF is on airing now. Youku even has advertising space on their platform for Hidden Love, and this two-year-old drama now has a popularity index over 5,500! It’s competing with some of the current dramas airing. This is how the platform treats its own dramas, they seize any opportunity to promote them whether it is the old drama or not. Youku keeps producing good dramas, so it’s no surprise that their dramas easily break 10,000 They’ve gained more subscribers over the past year, while iQiyi has let down their audience a lot. Even mango platform can produce the good quality drama recently,
Chen Zhe Yuan seems to be too naive. Otherwise, he would have left this company already, as they’re directing…
Yep, I’ve kind of let it go already after everything that’s happened over the past few weeks. 🤣🤣🤣 As you said, we can’t force fate. I also have low expectations for his upcoming drama since it’s still an iQiyi's drama. 😅 Even the platform doesn’t care about their own dramas, who am I to change their perspective? I’m just worried about CZY’s career, that’s all. Otherwise, I wouldn’t care if iQiyi goes bankrupt soon.

To be honest, I think the high expectations for TWOT are mostly because of CZY. If it weren’t for him, I’m not sure the expectations would have been this high for an idol drama. Usually, Chinese audiences don’t care much about idol dramas unless they’re starring a big name. Yet some still say he’s a nugu, so why do they care so much and have such high expectations for this drama if CZY is just some actor no one cares about?

- The Knockout (2023) - 39 episodes
- Under the Skin Season 2 (2024) - 28 episodes
- DNAD (2024) - 38 episodes
- etc

Who would expect that CZY's dog would be this popular. 😅
