Whether it’s a romance or a suspense drama, I’d be happy with either.
I feel like C-ent has so many costume dramas already.
Since they’re so popular and people tend to think real talent must act in those, it seems like everyone is jumping on the costume drama IP bandwagon.

This year is going to be a busy one for yuanbao! If we’re lucky, we might get to watch 3 or 4 of his dramas:

- TWOT, Finally!!!!
- TGH , I’m not that optimistic about this one since it was shot a few years ago when he was still younger and less experienced, but I’m excited to see him play a villain. Hopefully, C-netizens won’t be too harsh on him.
- Fated Heart , I think iQiyi is likely to air this one this year.
- CD , Not sure if Tencent will air this one, but we’ll see.

Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about this. He gained a massive following because people got excited about receiving his red envelopes during Chinese New Year, especially after posts spread the word that he was giving away huge amounts. He's the first C-star on Weibo to make this trend blow up, and now, many other C-stars are following his lead by handing out red envelopes. Weibo is going a little crazy right now, lol.

His intention is simply to give red envelopes to everyone, wanting nothing in return other than to make people happy. He’s just simple and kind-hearted like that.

We might be mistaken—there is indeed a promotion, but it’s being handled by CZY himself. He’s been going around joining variety shows to promote the drama on another platform, alongside Yuanbao, not by iQIYI for sure. 🤣🤣🤣

Otherwise, how could an idol drama like TWOT, which isn’t a costume S+ drama or the idol modern drama loved by iQIYI, reach more than 1 million reservation? It’s pretty hard for iQIYI to hit a 1 million reservation before the drama gets officially announced.

Yeah, I know. They don’t include TWOT with 1.38 million reservations, but they do include some dramas with fewer reservations than that (I won’t name them, because I don’t want to start a fight).

There are only about 10 un-aired dramas on iQIYI with more than 1 million reservations. (I read on weibo around 2 weeks ago)

Anyone who’s said that CZY is iQIYI’s "prince" and always gets special treatment from this platform should really slap themselves in the face, because they’re lying to themselves, lol.

Sometimes, a big IP doesn’t guarantee a hit, and many people in the Chinese entertainment industry actually enjoy seeing when a big IP drama fails to live up to expectations and stirs controversy. 😑

The success of a drama depends on several factors. Personally, I’d prefer CZY to have a great script, a solid production team, and excellent co-stars. I hope he doesn’t encounter any tricky production issues or a problematic crew. And, of course, it would be amazing if he’s happy with the role he’s playing!

Is this kind of plot overused? The whole "turning back in time" and "female lead seeking revenge" storyline seems pretty common these days, doesn’t it? Or maybe I am wrong.

The male lead in this novel is praised so much for how handsome and beautiful he is that some readers get a bit annoyed, LOL. Novel fans are even claiming that no one in the Chinese domestic industry is handsome enough to play this character.
I’m not sure if I want CZY to take on this role, though. 😅
