This is just my opinion; nobody knew the real situation anyway.
Judging from that time, rumors about that drama surfaced around January-February when SAF4 was still on air.
There was a major controversy about the billing, and D fans objected to him starring alongside her because they feared he would bring up the billing again.
They also believed he didn't suit the mature role of ML as defined in the novel due to his youthful appearance, and they felt CZY's acting wasn't on par with hers.
To avoid further controversy, he decided not to accept the role since February.
However, YXH continued to post as if he had been rejected until March-April, when they announced the new ML.
So he didn't purposely refuse Tencent, and later there were many rumor melon associated with Tencent's dramas.
Yuanbao seem upset with Tencent because rumors keep appearing without official announcements like they used his name for some reason.
I don't think Tencent have anything against him, though.
Whatever happened was just a fate I guess.

While that sounds good, I personally doubt Tencent will broadcast TGH in July, as they intend to air LYF2 first. It's unlikely they would have two YZ dramas on the same platform in the same month.

Additionally, "Destined" and "Mysterious Lotus Casebook" also made it to the top 5.
This year, iQiyi may lose the throne to Tencent or Youku if they don't promote their dramas properly.
I feel like iQiyi's mature dramas always have strong scripts and production, so they don't rely on promotion as much. Let's see how they perform this year, though.
