So much prologue !!! I know it's important not to skip them, but I want to skip to where they are adults…
once you get into them being adults there is more comedic breaks, the prologue was admittedly tough to get through, even watching it week by week, but i personally love how the story is going now that they're caught up to the present.
After watching episode 12, I think the biggest thing dragging down the series right now is Hwayoung. So far she hasn't shown to be very complex, and she seems very 1-dimensional compared to the rest of our main cast. I hope her character will become more complex.
I'm actually really liking the interactions between Sojoo & Dolmok, and Sojoo & Joonhee so far. Sojoo in general breaks a lot of the tension of the series. Seohyun is doing a great job with this character.
15 minutes into episode 10: if the whole Dal Mok stealing from rich people while wearing a cool mask and leaving a tag behind becomes a reoccurring thing i am 100% back in. The love triangle stuff is annoying but I can ignore it for some Robin Hood type vigilante stuff
This is probably one of the best dramas i've watched so far. The fact that there's no big romance plot clears the drama of having typical romance tropes & the typical misunderstandings and things that come with that (though there is some vague hints of romance here there, especially between some side characters, but the friendship aspect is much stronger).
Really interesting turns and twists so far, and it's great that I can't predict how a lot of things are going to turn out. I just marathoned all of the current episodes. Can't wait for next week.
i disagree with a few comments here. I still find the show very interesting, and I'm wondering how the mystery behind the independence fighters is going to unfold. I'm not looking forward to the impending love-triangle though, and I'm hoping that it won't be over-the-top.
edit: i spoke too soon before seeing the 8th episode. sigh. i'll keep watching though.
50 ıs too much. Reason to not start a drama. .lets see the rating when its 30+ep . Even if its high by that time.…
Ratings on a website like this really aren't that good to go by. There's no indication so far that show will be a "case every 3-5 episodes" so far. It looks like it has an overarching plot with smaller details being discovered over the course of the series. If you don't like long shows, so be it, but the only way to really know if you're going to like it or not is by watching the first few episodes.
It's pretty sad seeing people not wanting to watch this just because it's 50 episodes. Maybe it's…
separate seasons are definitely a factor, and this is actually something 50-ep dramas have in favor of american shows. American networks go season-by-season, so a lot of those shows are disjointed or have no clear ending because the network just wants to make a lot of money.
50 episode dramas are pretty much already guaranteed their 50-ep run and (in theory, since this is my first long kdrama) have a lot more room to have their story planned out and ending worked out.
It's pretty sad seeing people not wanting to watch this just because it's 50 episodes. Maybe it's because I'm used to watching american shows that end up having about that many episodes if not more. I can understand dropping if it if you aren't interested, but if you watch multiple currently-airing dramas throughout the year, is watching one 50-ep one that different? Aside from the fact that it's one story instead of multiple stories, obv.
From the synopsis i thought "This looks like Korean version of the Leverage". Is it though ?
tl;dr: So far, no, but it seems like it's leading up to having some similar vibes.
It has a similar "Robin Hood but with more people" thing in the synopsis (I liked Leverage a lot so I have high hopes for this), but so far the dynamics are completely different, and it has a pretty clear overarching plot that Leverage didn't have, as it was more episodic. But we're only 3 episodes in and haven't seen the main cast yet so a lot can still happen.
I certainly don't mind "bad boys" in the aspect of them being closed off & having a shell to break through, but I'm definitely glad to see less of lead males being straight up bullies.
I'm confused..In some places this is categorized as romance, and in others not. Then I read an article saying…
Perhaps some of the descriptions are outdated and based on earlier reporters about the show? I'm not sure which would be outdated, though, since the show seems to drop hints of budding romantic feelings, but the romance (if any) between the two leads doesn't seem to be the focal point. Yet at least. Only real way to know is to continue watching/waiting until its over.
I haven't seen any of these other than Healer, but I think calling it "objectively awful" is objectively wrong. It's not perfect by any means, but it's pacing issues are not enough to call it awful. Objectively, it's at least decent. From my opinion it's one of the dramas I would actually consider good.
