Title Nirvana in Fire Season 2: The Wind Blows in Chang Lin Spoiler
I'm on a rewatch, and man, I just LOVE, LOVE LOVE the Changlin family. All of them are just rockstars and amazing,…
While I am a bit conflicted, I might have to put this one just above Nirvana in Fire 1. I watched NIF-1 first and thought it would be impossible for any drama to beat NIF-1 and when they announced NIF-2, I thought they are making a mistake and NIF-2 will get heavy backlash. So, it did, mainly due to the casting of Huang Xiao Ming, even before a single episode aired. However, all the backlashes went away after the drama was aired complete. However, despite being a brilliant drama, people felt it just fell short of season 1 and I thought so too at first. However, I liked the drama immensely. Overtime, I had newfound appreciation for this instalment, as all the characters are so much more developed and multifaceted. Even the villains were human and had justifiable reason for their acts, especially Yuanqi and the prime minister. My favourite character was Pingjing. The actor was such a breath of fresh air and acted brilliantly. I just couldn't take my mind off the subtility the drama portrayed. Everything was natural, from set design to music and lighting. While choice between NIF-1 and NIF-2 can get down to personal preference, it is undeniable that both the dramas belong to the highest order of Chinese drama.
