Title Climax
this westernised slop is why currently people are abandoning Kdrama for Cdramas.
Cdramas have always been better. They just didn't have the same exposure as the Kdramas and KPOP also played a big part for Kdramas to go international. Cdramas are more intricate (albeit not all of them) and grander. I have yet to come across a drama series like nirvana in fire series in Kdrama. However, I feel Cdramas have lost a bit of their shine recently as more and more historical Cdramas are being made.

This entire sequence when he didn't watch the video just because his wife told him not to and kept delaying it…
And to think that the wife's brother was killed because of her affair is even more unsettling. The wife is even more of a scumbag.

I didn't say "Cheating" explicitly for this drama, but the general trend in Japanese dramas. In this drama there is no "Cheating" per se. But you are left with a bitter feeling. Just as he didn't appreciate her effort, she also didn't realize his contributions. If they do get back together, it doesn't justify the drama's theme.

Title Then You Try Making It! Spoiler
If they do get back together, then this show is a waste. After the guy realizes his shortcomings and learns to cook, he should not his pursue his ex. Now that he has improved himself, he should choose someone with better character and understanding as she doesn't offer anything new or better. and not worth his effort.

Her intention was never to make him realize his shortcomings, rather she was fed up with the life she had with him. Instead of communicating, she chose to end the relationship and then had a new boyfriend. For him it was good that she broke up with him. Now that he has realized his shortcomings, they should never end up together. If they somehow make them come together like all the jdramas where cheating is normalized, then it would be a waste of show.

You have probably seen something else. If anything, as a standalone drama the second drama is on par with the best Chinese dramas out there.

Title The King's Woman Spoiler
There are several Chinese dramas with themes similar to this drama, namely that the emperor's woman has an affair…
What do you mean by historical greatness. There was nothing great when it came to the imperial family. If the modern Chinese movies glorify Yang Guifei where the king cuckolds his own son, how can there be any greatness in it?

Jae min should not have killed himself at the end. What's done is done, enjoy life with a new chic and get divorced with the Yeong Joo, his family had enough money to exonerate him anyway.

Title Nirvana in Fire Spoiler
I've watched legend of zang hai but I've yet to watch nifAre they similar
Nirvana in fire is much more intricate. Whereas Nirvana in fire 2 is more balanced. To be honest the two dramas of NIF series are still unmatched in cdrama land. You don't need to watch the first to watch the second part as the stories are not dependent, but some references are there. These are long dramas and takes a bit more time for the story to take off and really grasp what is going on.

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
It is a very good drama. Personally, loved it more than The Prisoner of Beauty. Liu Yu Ning was exceptional. However,…
This drama has pleasantly surprised me with how close-knit the story was. Many have messed up such a genre, but here they have tied the loose ends perfectly. I liked how they foreshadowed that the NPCs and other characters can be aware of the infinite time loop from the first episode. In the very first episode, when Song Yi Meng was trying to marry Chu Gui Hong and dying and resurrecting repeatedly, there was this small boy who realized that she was getting married repeatedly and was confused. It was also interesting that Song Yi Meng realized that the weapon-making formula was basic chemistry, but she couldn't remember what the exact formula was, and she could not balance the equations.

Liu Yu Ning is a good actor. I have liked him since watching the long ballad. In this drama he did a stellar job as well. Primary attraction for this Drama is Liu Yu Ning as both Nan Heng and Liu Shi Liu and he performed both characters really well. However, I believe Li Yi Tong actually showcased her talents exceptionally. It is very hard to do comedy, and she has excelled here. I already knew that she was a really good actress when it comes to sad, dramatic characters like in the bloody romance or Royal Nirvana, but here she was exceptional in comedy. It was difficult to take my eyes of her character.

ADWAD. It had the better overall script (no pun intended). TPOB I think only serves well in the romance department,…
ADWAD is a very good drama. There is a reason that the drama still has such a high rating despite it's genre. As good as Liu Yu Ning was in the drama, Li Yi Tong is the soul here. I can hardly think of any other actress pull this off, well may be except Bai Lu.

Well, it has some slight romance because of the 2 main pairings HOWEVER it's very weak imo. It made no sense why…
Considering that we have the same team behind NIF2 as NIF1, I thought it would be wise not to expect any intimate moments between them. Everything is more symbolic and grander. I personally would have preferred some intimate moments, but considering the nature of the production team I am fine with it. It was clear that Lin Xi loved him from the moment when Pingjing came to stay at Lin Xi's clinic after he came to know that his older brother was adopted, and he was the reason why his brother and sister-in-law were not having a child. It's just that she is not very good with emotions and has a stoic personality, and that was to be expected as she lost both her parents at an early age.

I think it was easier to see why Pingjing and Lin Xi would fall for each other. For Lin Xi, Pingjing was a brat like other boys she has seen at first, but she knew he was her fiancé from the beginning. After they spent some time together, she realized that he was just a bit unruly due to his young age, but possessed extraordinary qualities, was loyal, a worthy brother, son, and later uncle. He was a brilliant martial artist and military strategist. He was lively and full of life, while she was reserved. She craved a relationship like his brother and sister-in-law. For Pingjing, he didn't know that she was his fiance, but he admired her from the beginning due to her immense knowledge and calmness. Her independent and melancholy personality also attracted him as he wanted to light up her world.

Season 1 was more intricate and had more intrigue and machinations, while season 2 had more heart to it. I personally liked season 2 a tad more, solely due to the interaction of the members of Changlin mansion. The development of Pingjing from a brat to a responsible person was done very well as the development of his and Lin Xi's relationship.
