Why were 2 episodes released today? Can someone explain?
maybe bcs ep 7 was sweet romantic nothing that was designed to make audience happpy... and creators here reflected on that - unlike in other series - or because they like us. U choose. :D

I believe he didn't want to burden and hurt Jin with him more him leaving felt like a selfless move, he doesn't…
You see, and that is exactly what people should do, no matter what — versus what they actually do — and that's why cases like these get so complicated to prove. The moment he suspects something, he should go to the police. The moment he's still in his right mind (because he is — he might feel disturbed, but he still believes the evidence is somehow wrong) and is offered, with no strings attached yet, the choice to stay or go based on: do you still love me / did you do something wrong / do you want us to continue? — and he answers no — then no, you don’t want us to continue, and the rest of the damage is up to me to deal with.

So, in my book, that’s a very painful breakup.

As for "what Jin thinks of a broken promise" — you’re talking about rules, but I’m talking about love. You're probably referencing what Jin said in the car. If I were the creator, I wouldn't use that line because it unnecessarily confuses the audience. I don’t think the character cares about rules one bit (or promises, if you want). I think the character cares about Akin — and he’s shown that countless times.

Akin... I feel rage on his behalf. He truly needs support and time, not to be thrown away and left to dwell alone. And I feel even more rage because he was the one who pushed Jin away. Since Jin seemed to be the closest to him at the time, I feel even more anger. The situation is unfair through and through.

Honestly, by doing that, you shut down the other side, and you can only do that if you don't care if what they promised they are gonna do (after all, you chose your feelings, why they shouldn't choose theirs?). It is/was 50/50, but then Akin shut Jin's feelings out completely. If he was more out of it than he obviously was, then understandable. But the way they portrayd it, Akin just disregarded Jin's feelings and that is something I have a problem with. He didn't even have to think about it twice or long or hesitate - that completely hurt.

Thank you, that is another one very good option indeed. 🙏 Is there anyone who would do the same? Why would you do that if you were him, please?

Dude literally got assaulted tf. Why didn’t he confront that shit. I wish Jin at least tried listening to him…
I believe Akin didn't come to terms with it yet, so he couldn't actually explain anything to another living soul yet. Just bad thing at bad time. Happens. Definitelly not fault of any of the two.

its a shame with that rape they ruined the series, it's so sad 😢
No, they actually make it for adult audience as suggest the setting of the series. They might ruin it if it happened between MML1 and MML2. Which didn't, they keep that space very respectful.

On A Shoulder to Cry On Apr 13, 2025
!SPOILER ALERT!
/exasperated sigh/
There is this amiss notion that if you have a BL, it has to be explicit. That’s just not true — and A Shoulder to Cry On (2023) proves my point.

Storytelling-wise, it is superb. It's rare to find something this meaningful and impactful in the sea of BLs. And yet… here come my next words: it's truly exhausting to know, three episodes before the end, that they never intended to show anything explicit. In the BL world, that’s heartbreaking — especially when you spend the whole final episode hoping they’d just stay friends, thinking maybe that's what we're seeing, only to realize: nope, they just censored everything that was meant to be there.

There’s also that classic effect where the side characters end up more prominent, more important, and just overall better than the main ones — especially when the genre blends with others. Sadly, so many — if not 90% — of BLs should be grateful for the existence of bromance.

Because once the cast and crew don’t have to worry, they can actually do their jobs. They can entertain. Explore. Experiment. Heck, even flirt. Right, The Devil Judge? I see you. (Or should I say Word of Honor? I’m staring you down.)

If A Shoulder to Cry On had been marketed as a bromance, like Kei×Yaku, we wouldn’t be forced to downrate it just because of that awkward last episode, right?

We all knew it would never deliver anything from the BL department — and that’s fine! Not everyone can give their full 100% to everything. But next time, can we not label it as BL if it clearly isn’t?
