Those who like the drama did not find the story crass, stupid or inconsistent. Which part is makjang? I didn't find an unusual number of unlikeable characters and the development of the leads' relationship fits in with the whole story. What cheating? He never told his gf he loved her and he made it clear he didn't like that she announced their engagement. His gf should know what that means - he is not into her. He is not blameless since he led her on, but if you expected a saintly ML, you should not have watched a story about an orphan who didn't know who his father is and was raised by his mom's friends who were not able to teach him what love is. I suggest you watch it or try to understand it. Inventing flaws and nitpicking were exactly the same tactics used by saboteurs of TKEM. These "flaws" you pointed out are the same "flaws" I've read over and over in the hate comments. Were you all given some hating points?

Spoken like a true hater. This is a comment section for WTSG so it's understandable for those who love this drama to discuss it at length here. What I don't understand is for those who hate this to camp in this section to tear it down and make sure those who love it would not have a moment's peace. When I don't like a drama, I drop it without any fanfare. But such is the toxicity of the kdrama industry that people are not allowed to support what they love.

KSH and GM must be panicking. They keep making mistakes. After denying KSH never dated Saeron much less went to her place while she was a minor; after denying it's him in a photo showing a guy washing dishes in her place in his undies, he is suing her family for publicizing that photo, in effect confessing he WAS the guy in the photo, in effect confessing he lied AGAIN. It's one lie after another with his team. While his delusional fans have totally flushed critical thinking down the drain and keep supporting him, his much wiser brand sponsors are not buying his lies and have dropped him as their model - Prada, Jo Malone, Dinto,, Cuckoo China, K2, Tous les Jours, etc. And Disney+ has put his drama on hold indefinitely.

This comment from @Cherrymotion answered some nagging reservations I have about KSH:
"the media play is crazy. for anyone wondering why he's famous and expensive, this may answer your questions. he paid journalists to upvote his name by publishing only good articles about him. that may influence his image for the public and eventually raise his brand reputation."

It has been a mystery to me why he got so many acting awards when his acting is unremarkable, with no finesse. I also never found him handsome. He is plain-looking plus he has an air that simply turned me off. I didn't realize I have an anti-pervert radar until now.

mdl loves him

There are Oscar-awarded movies I love and those I don't like, but I keep mum about those I don't like because I'm aware that with movies/dramas, it boils down to taste. For viewers like me who were fascinated by the depiction of life in a space station, of scientists who have unspeakable courage to work in outer space where even a millimeter of mistake could cost one's life, of scientists' dedication to finding ways to achieve miracles, WTSG is a treasure.

I beg to differ. I consider it among the best kdramas I've watched. The parallel worlds, the time freeze and time travel were mind-boggling. The OST is outstanding too.

I suspect it's sabotage. Saboteurs will blow up non-issues just to hurt a show. Same as in TKEM where an object that was onscreen for a split second was much maligned for not looking Korean enough. Ridiculous!

Even if it was a bad break-up, why torture her with the "debt"? Also why hire a Youtuber to ruin her reputation? That's plain sadistic.

Did anybody care about the company going to the funeral? The issue was KSH not going to the funeral, having been close to the deceased. It's just an attempt to deflect from the issue.

Those who are equating the cyberbullying of Saeron with that of KSH don't get the situation. Saeron didn't deserve the cyberbullying she got. She was already being bullied by KSH and GM as it was. She published the photo to get his attention since he was ignoring her calls/texts. Had he not ignored her calls for help. she wouldn't have published the photo that triggered the cyberbullying. On the other hand, KSH deserves every admonition that comes his way. Not just for his relationship with a minor (they started dating when she was 15 meaning he probably started grooming her at 12 or 13; her aunt said he pursued her for "years") but more so for harassing her to her death. After she sent that text begging for help, his agency sent her another notice harassing her about the money. Recently, KSH and his agency claimed they had already resolved the money she owed. But why did they keep torturing her? KSH even paid a Youtuber to further damage her reputation. KSH demonstrated malevolent intent that drove Saeron to end her life. He deserves public condemnation, especially if Korean law fails her.

Last reports I've read on Twitter: The TV show Good Day which he is a guest of said they'd edit him out of their show. Disney+ is putting his drama Knock-off on hold indefinitely.

It may not be perfect, as all dramas aren't, but calling it trash just put you in the hater category. I doubt you watched it or bothered to understand it. It's closer to a masterpiece than trash.

There's a current scandal that exposed a racket an actor has been doing to other actors - sponsoring or encouraging hate trains against them. He even paid a Youtuber to harass an actress. It's quite possible that LMH is a victim of something like this, i.e. there might be some nasty character out to get him, sponsoring/encouraging hate trains against him.

This intensifies my disgust for the kdrama industry. I can't stand unfairness and seeing a great piece of work being assassinated like this is quite distressing.

I also avoided MDL while watching this drama so as not to ruin my enjoyment. And I did enjoy it until I came to check on this site while waiting for ep 13, certain the majority of comments would be positive since I was wowed by it. And now I'm regretting not defending this drama earlier. I think one reason TKEM stayed afloat was because those who loved it fought tooth and nail for it from the beginning.

Like WTSG, The King Eternal Monarch is unique, fascinating and thought-provoking. Just because a drama is not your type doesn't mean it's bad. Many viewers love them, including me.

When this happened to The King Eternal Monarch, I checked the watchlists of the bullies and found most of them to be fans of another actor. Nowadays, anti-fans have become sneaky, seems like they're creating accounts to use for bullying, with no watchlist, but I won't be surprised if they're the same bullies as the ones that tried to sabotage TKEM
