From the first half, it was clear that this was created to tackle the modern cultural issues that South Korea still faces, but after it approached the midway point, it went heh....
I only watched this till the end because of the supporting characters. They were the soul of this series.
I will give props to Kim Ji Eun's effort to switch between two characters, not a new thing, but she did manage it seamlessly. It felt natural.
Well good thing about this for me was that it introduced me to Yang Hye Ji.
Nope, went to the novel and the author forced ML to have a good "character", some boundary, while introducing…
The way her character is, the audience will typically not like it, no matter who is cast. Her screen time is way less, and due to the plot, she is distant from MC, and we saw so many different female characters earlier on who were close to MC.
In a novel setting, we would be easily connected to her since it has lots of chapters. But in drama, where lots of female characters are introduced, and due to the character's attitude, no one can easily connect to the FMC.
Well, at first I thought she was miscast, too. But she has grown on me. I kinda like her more now 😆
This feels like it was supposed to be a harem relationship but turned singular, evident with the sister-law, the…
Nope, went to the novel and the author forced ML to have a good "character", some boundary, while introducing lots of female characters. He is dedicated to his "wife" only. Never looking at other women. This is even mentioned in the novel.
Even the novel's last chapter ends with this topic.
It seems that the author literally tried to please the Chinese government ( this show falls under NRTA) and so needs to stay on their good side to get more work.
What the hell are you on? ML, FML, and MC (common in the literature domain) are very common abbreviations that have been used in movie discussions for ages! You are a young blood, aren't you? Mobile legend 🤣
A very good underated actress. After seeing her in Wonderful World she left me in awe. Her presence in that drama…
underated? Her shows used to top the charts in her peak time! It is just that the international audience started to watch the K-drama in mid-2010 (or late), so they do not know about her.
This was a fun watch, yes, it should be taken as a silly comedy show, not a serious one. It is kinda predictable in some critical situations, but nevertheless a fun watch!
If they turn this into a "game" genre now, then I am gonna drop this. The plot should not go towards that much of a shitty direction after all this........right?
EDIT: I just saw it is a remake, and reading the summary, it did not copy 1-to-1, but not the "game" genre. Please! Don't make this Disney's attempt at Squid Game's clout chasing!
i dont get it ppl started covering up eventhough knew he killed him...for what and they work in media and law…
Without concrete evidence, it would be impossible and career ending move if they were not able to prove it after reopening the investigation, and then that BS happened which kinda closed the door. All they had (not devective) was his indirect confession (except his wife). There was no proof for his indictment.
That last scene was the biggest disappointment. If the series ended with MC shown like some sort of hidden evil guy, after what he witnessed. It would have been so much better. Till the end, he was shown how "good" a person he is, even though he did not surrender earlier.
I feel they overused the "wow/ah" aspect of thriller mystery. Every 20-30 minutes, we are circling back, making it more confusing with each episode. It was a poor take on a thriller.
Also, freakn MC, he is a god-level simp character! In every episode, we feel like he will redeem himself, but once we hit more than half of the series, it becomes a concrete fact! He accepts it himself.
This entire series is about simp male(s) and an unfair situation faced by women in Korea in business as well as society. Just sprinkle some thriller and mystery aspect to it.
There are so many plot holes, like the first part of the plot itself is a plot hole, you are going to interview a guy who will be responsible for your survival, and you don't first and foremost see the picture or "face" of his? If the wife is investigated, the husband will also be investigated, isn't it? At least verify his location more than some guys, yeah, I saw him hours later in some place! BLACK BOX! Everything is surrounded by that! But this series just doesn't care about that aspect at all. The investigation, you have so many cases where a new suspect is formed, but nope, they are never even explored. Wife's alibi, reporter, etc, etc.
Last confession was even more BS it was just fan service to the viewer. This series does not deserve its 8-star rating!!!
I only watched Branding in Seongsu due to her!

But if you watched both episode then like I don't know, just take a simple sarcasm it is not even that rude 😜

What a waste of time was this!!!!
