After I watched a few episodes of TBT while TFF was still airing but I put it on hold. I didn't pick it back up…
I do agree with all you stated. I remember reading some of the comments back then maybe I missed yours it's unfair how they blame TFF fans when this drama also got low ratings because of trolls here. It really sucks to see people acting like that. I honestly think some anti-fans are leaving comments on both pages just to stir up fights.

I agree! I first watched TBT and I love it. I just finished TFF today and I love it too! I actually lurked around…
I agree it's exhausting to keep seeing comparisons when each story is written differently and should just be appreciated for what the screenwriters chose to give us.

They resumed, but it’s not on this page.

Honestly, I don't get why people are comparing TFF and TBT. The dramas are very different.
It’s honestly absurd, especially when the two dramas don’t share the same storyline or were ever meant to be compared in the first place. I have a feeling it’s just because they aired around the same time people tend to compare anything that overlaps, even when it doesn’t make sense.

I commented on TBT couple weeks ago and said the doctor patient relationship was putting me off. did not mention…
I noticed a pattern while reading the comments after I finished watching The Best Thing. Some users focused solely on the drama itself, which is fine but there were others who had clearly watched The First Frost first, didn’t like it or dropped it, and now keep shading it by repeating the same criticisms in slightly different ways.

I’ve also seen some fans blame TFF viewers for the ratings, but let’s be real TFF's ratings were dragged down a lot, and that didn’t just happen randomly. I don’t understand why anyone would spend their time trying to lower another drama’s ratings.

It’s unfair to both dramas. I even came across a recent comment comparing the Ex in TBT to TFF, and their emotional arcs aren't similar. It feels like some users are just targeting TFF out of spite, and that kind of negativity doesn’t help anyone.

I just finished The Best Thing and honestly, it was a really good watch for me. Afterward, I checked the comment section and noticed a strange pattern something a few people had already pointed out back when the drama was still airing.

I really don’t understand why someone would go watch a completely different drama just to hate on it because it wasn’t to their taste. Yes, dramas are meant to be critiqued, and I’m all for that. But there’s a big difference between offering a thoughtful critique and flat-out hating on something.

I’m reposting my comment here for visibility, and I encourage anyone to visit The Best Thing’s page and read through the comments to see what’s been going on.

That said, I do want to address something. Please stop comparing The First Frost and The Best Thing. They're not related in any way and weren’t made to be stacked against each other. Both are beloved dramas that did incredibly well both internationally and in China. Their fanbases on platforms like Twitter, TikTok, and elsewhere generally respect each other there’s no need to create drama where there isn’t any.

I’ve noticed some users leaving nearly identical negative comments under different styles, and while I kept quiet before, the pattern has become hard to ignore. If you didn’t like the reason why Yifan left the second time, that’s fine it was a flawed decision. But the show clearly explained her trauma and how it resurfaced. It’s not hard to understand: she has a tendency to isolate herself when things go wrong, and even her family never made an effort to reach her. Her mother, especially, was vile. But this time, she had friends and a partner who actually cared and that’s a big part of the story’s message.

TBT and TFF should be appreciated for what they are, not used against each other. I wasn’t planning to leave a long comment here, but it’s unfair to see the same users stirring things up again and again. Some people have already expressed concern in group chats, and honestly, if this continues, it’s just disrespectful to the work and to the people who genuinely connected with these stories.

I completely agree with you she had one of the best character developments I’ve seen. Everything about this drama is a solid 10 for me. It was absolutely worth watching, and I’ll definitely be rewatching it again 💗🥲

After finishing this drama, I have to say I truly enjoyed it. It’s well written, with strong chemistry between the leads and impressive acting throughout. The final episode, along with a few others like episode 12, stood out as some of my favorites. I especially loved how natural and comfortable Su Ye and Xifan’s relationship felt. Their dynamic was intimate without being overdone, and honestly, one of the best kiss scenes I’ve seen in a while.

This is definitely a drama I’d rewatch. I’m also planning to check out other works from the leads and the screenwriter who, by the way, also adapted Hidden Love, which explains a lot about the emotional depth and overall quality here. It’s a solid 10/10 for me not from bias, but genuine appreciation. I’ve watched quite a few dramas this week, and I feel so grateful this one was part of the list.

which Cdrama should i watch between the best thing and the first frost ? (it will be my first time watching a…
The First Frost and The Best Thing are both good in their own ways. I enjoy watching both K-dramas and C-dramas, and each show brings something different to the table. The First Frost leans more toward emotional complexity it has a well-written male lead, and the female lead was deeply understood, especially in how the story portrayed her trauma.

keep in mind, these two dramas aren’t connected. It makes more sense to watch them individually instead of comparing them they’re telling completely different stories.
Replying to mystic exiler Apr 16, 2025
The ex character here is just like the female lead from TFF. Both left the other person at their own convenience,…
Yifan didn’t just “regret” her decision she was carrying trauma. She truly believed that leaving was the only way to protect the people she loved. But later, she realized that running away didn’t solve anything it just hurt everyone, including herself. That’s why she says, “Running away doesn’t change anything, it just causes more pain.”

The drama did explain this. Her trauma wasn’t just thrown in for drama it shaped her entire arc. It does not matter whether a character is the main lead or a supporting one if they’re written as flawed, they’re going to make flawed decisions. That’s the point. What mattered was how she grew from it. It did heal her when she started learning and experiencing other things, but the story never ignored her flaw it addressed it head on.

And no, the characters aren’t the same. The female lead in TFF is a complex character, with a completely different emotional framework. Just because you missed the nuances doesn’t mean they weren’t there. Maybe rewatch it without skipping or watching the back of your screen this time.

i just feel like that they dragged this show , i think 24eps should be enough
The drama is a very slow burn, and given Yifan’s trauma, I think they made good use of all the episodes except for the grandfather arc. Still, I’d say it fully deserved all 32 episodes.

20 episodes in...Don't get the hype. Show is enjoyable but I really don't get how it could get a 8.9 overall ratings...Feels…
The drama is a very slowburn romance, rated by viewers who connected with its storyline and the depth of the acting. While the kissing scenes are well done, Yifan often comes across as shy. More intimate moments, including several kissing scenes, appear after episode 20. Similarly, Amidst a Snowstorm of Love also follows a slowburn approach.

It was rated over 8.9 by people who actually liked it. Netflix was involved too, they definitely put budget into it. The storyline’s one of its strongest points dark, slow paced, not a light watch at all. Average actors would’ve stood out with writing like this, but the cast did a great job and really brought it to life.
