The FL was so selfish to get up and leave in episode 25. She told him and herself she wasn't going to do this…
I don’t think the FL was being selfish in episode 25, if anything, that decision came from a place of emotional overwhelm, not immaturity. It’s easy to call her out for leaving, but healing from trauma isn’t linear. She may have promised not to hurt the ML again, but people can say that with genuine intent and still falter when they’re triggered. The important thing is that she wasn’t playing games, she truly cared about him, which is why it hurt her too. We can hold her accountable and still acknowledge that emotional setbacks don’t make someone a bad person. In real life, healing takes time, and love doesn’t erase fear overnight.

I’m not really a fan of skinship, so this will probably be a good watch for me. I’ll let you know in a few days if I end up liking it.

I get where you’re coming from, but I don’t fully agree. What you described is actually why I said it feels like slice of life, because of how they brought in the family themes and Yi Fan’s healing. Sang Yan’s attitude isn’t just random or for drama, it’s how he copes while waiting for Yi Fan to open up. That kind of slow pacing isn’t for everyone, but for me, it made sense with the story.

I understand it didn’t hold your attention anymore, and that’s fair. Not every drama will work for everyone. But I do think there’s more to it than just dragging things out. Either way, no pressure to keep watching, there are tons of dramas out there. Hope the next one clicks with you.

Mu Cheng Yun appears and I immediately start skipping scenes then whole episodes. I don't watch a lot of c-drama…
This drama is an adaptation hence why Mu Cheng Yun is in the drama, and in my opinion, it’s not draggy. The tone, from the coloring to the storytelling, was clearly set up as a slow burn especially because of Yifan’s trauma, with everything she’s been through, it’s not easy for her to open up. You don’t need to force yourself to watch it if you’re looking for something fast-paced.

slow burn romance is a big understatement, more like slow, slooooooow, sloooooooooow burn romance. Good series,…
They made the story slow on purpose because of the melo and slice of life themes. The female lead was written to be more complex because of her trauma, and the director didn’t want to just skip over it.

Who is hypocritical and how? LolI hope u know what simp means. Just because he loved unconditionally doesn’t…
Actually, that’s a misread of Sang Yan’s character. He never stalked her for anything bad he wanted to talk to her but couldn’t bring himself to do it. That hesitation came from not knowing how to approach her, not from any harmful intent.

Calling him disrespectful? Sang Yan talks to everyone with that same sassy tone it’s literally just his personality. There was never a moment he neglected the people around him. He doesn't prioritize the FL at the expense of others he just has his own way of showing care.

Labeling it as “owning” or “trashing” people is such a stretch. None of what he did was vile.

Damn the amount of praise and score of this, really high and one universe with hidden love which i like so i try…
She disappeared again because of her unresolved trauma it’s not just for drama’s sake. Her reaction might seem repetitive, but it reflects someone who hasn’t healed and doesn’t know how to ask for support, especially after everything she went through in the past. That’s why she keeps pulling away when things get overwhelming.

it’s set in the same universe as Hidden Love this is Sang Yan’s love story, it’s meant to stand on its own It’s a very different show. The First Frost is darker and heavier emotionally, while Hidden Love was more youthful and sweet. They aren’t meant to be the same in pacing or tone.

It’s totally fair if it didn’t click with you. Just worth keeping in mind that The First Frost did well in its own right, and the storytelling reflects a different side of love and growth more complex.

Some users on this site tend to misinterpret discussions, leading to unnecessary arguments. Earlier today, I saw a comment accusing people of being obsessive for talking about ratings and comparing them to K-drama fans. However, when the drama’s ratings increased, many Kdrama fans on the same page were celebrating.

One user also generalized and called others bullies just for replying to a comment. While the response may have come across as harsh, that doesn’t equate to bullying. Misusing words like this only creates unnecessary conflict.
