I'm still waiting for FL to completely team up with ML. It's been 6eps already!!!
I was worried about this as well. Then I realized this is a 16 episode drama. That said, I'm really hoping it happens next week. That's eps 7 & 8 and it will be time to pick up the pace on the main plot about her sister and the ties with the big law firm.
Jisoo had to show herself a bad singer🤣..how out of character that must've been for her🤣
It actually tells you how good a vocalist she really is. Going just offkey enough to be painful is extremely difficult to do on purpose. I'm a sound engineer, and it sounded real, not like they used post processing to detune her.
I remember the rating was 8.5 before, but now it has dropped to 8.2. Is it really that bad? I’m still unsure…
It's dominating the ratings in Korea for a (very good) reason. The comments section here is getting as bad as the knetz, with the number that come here for no other reason than to complain.
It's one of the best shows in the subgenre I've seen. If they stick the landing it will be right there with Vincenzo or My Demon.
Omg this deserves more viewers and higher reviews it’s so awesome
Don't worry. The show is actually doing great.
The good news is that the reviews here are irrelevant as far as the studio or Netflix is concerned. When the show is dominating the #1 slot OTA in Korea, not even the toxicity of the knetz will matter, much less someplace like here. Most people just come here to complain about not being catered to.
The show is a home run both in Korea and on Netflix. If you want a more civil discussion, go over to r/KDRAMA on Reddit. It's pretty tightly moderated, but over the years I've come to the conclusion that is a good thing.
She wasn't even in a hurry to become a nine tailed fox, that's why she gave her fox bead to Eunho and let her…
Exactly. It takes centuries to become human. Even if she were to push hard, we found out in the earlier part of the story it wouldn't have been in their lifetime for her to earn her 9th tail.
About episode 8, I don’t really think what they did was a good deed. They took everything from the old chairman…
He was a) making the deal on insider information effectively, which is illegal regardless the price, and b) Eun Ho used her power to force the researcher to make the deal when he wasn't going to at any price.
Koreans take that kind of malfeasance *very* seriously.
I'm afraid this drama won't have a happy ending.I think Eun Ho will die, become a nine-tailed fox again, or turn…
There is a formula to these kind of stories. Keep that in mind. The supernatural being - whether demon, gumiho, or whatever - that has fallen in love *always* sacrifices itself for the human lover. Then we get a time skip. Sometimes - like My Demon - it's months. Sometimes it can be several years, like in My Man is Cupid. Spirit creature is sent back for a happy ending.
Sometimes it doesn't happen. Koreans love their tragedies, after all. But they like happy endings as well. This drama has all the signs of following that classic pattern.
here we go again, calling it dragging and slow... don't ever ask for 16 episode drama again, then... like, its…
I think, especially here in the US, there are too many people who expect either instant gratification or their dopamine hit. There is a definite loss of appreciation for a slow burn.
This drama is paced just fine and amazingly there isn't really any filler that doesn't have a purpose to the plot.
Both my wife and I are enjoying this drama. I think a big part of it is that we didn't go into it with any particular expectations, we don't really care about social messaging, and it is primarily escape filler between deeper dramas.
It's proving to be exactly what we expected; a pretty standard office Chaebol/Cinderella drama with a twist as part of the premise. Like Would You Marry Me or Dynamite Kiss, I would give it a 7 to 7.5. Nothing special, but a potentially fun watch.
It's predictable, has all the expected tropes, and the right length with only 12 episodes. 16 or even 14 would certainly be too long.
We can cheer for the heroes. We can boo the villains. The story holds up enough to suspend disbelief. We can laugh at the humor. Expectations fully met for a slightly above average drama. If you are expecting more, the problem is with you, not with the drama.
Save it for when you need some mindless filler or escapism, set expectations aside, take it for what it is, and you'll have a fun watch.
I really love this show ..I wonder why the low ratings
I can think of a few reasons.
First, the release was delayed from when it was originally announced. Now that it is out, it's going against some very strong competition that are either already going strong or were highly anticipated.
Finally, it's out on Netflix, so you can watch it any time. I've noticed a tendency for ratings to drop when this is the case even when the show is good.
Wow what do people find in it? It’s so stupid 😅
Keep in mind, that for many of those people it is their first exposure into the Kdrama/Kmovie genres. For us, it might be just another good effort. For them, it's almost a gateway drug.

There is nothing wrong with a drama being light, predictable, and sweet with leads to cheer and clear villains to boo. A great light watch!

Remember that there are NO EPISODES this week due to the Lunar New Year celebrations in Korea!

Sadly, the truth doesn't seem to matter much on the knetz.
