Rakuten Viki has the best and AMAZING description of this show. They use a few words to capture the very deep essence and the jist of the drama. Whoever wrote that is a master of storytelling. MDL and many other sites tend to have very cheesy and often inaccurate descriptions. Viki's description answers our question - WHY IS THE DRAMA CALLED "QUEEN'S HOUSE"? We all were wondering that at the start of this series. So the series is about turning a fake queen's fake house into a real queen real house, JI earning the title of the queen in her own life, who burns down the fake and creates her own beautiful home with ppl who proved to be good for her. So the idea is to become a queen/king in your own life and create the environment that is good for your continuing growth and well being. At the start, JI was in a very toxic place, based on lies and secrets, and a slave to her own naivette and blindness :) And yeah JI was right GC would have had it all if he waited just a few months, the old Chairman was just about to go traveling around the world with his wife and retiring and leave it all to hGC in just a month or so ... Wow GC the looser LOL
Viki says: "Jae In seems to have it all. Raised in luxury by a powerful conglomerate family, she is a successful design lead living what she believes is a perfect life with a loving husband and son. But that perfect world implodes when she uncovers his shocking affair and a staggering betrayal by her closest friend. Suddenly stripped of everything, she is forced to ask what home even means when it has all been a lie. Meanwhile, her husband Ki Chan, driven by deep insecurity and a ruthless hunger for power, drops the loving facade to seize control of YL Group. To protect her family's legacy and her son, Jae In transforms, vowing revenge that will burn everything down. Can she find her way back to a true home amidst the ashes?"
One small but important detail is Sook Ja's nails... beautifully perfectly done crimson red nails... it really adds to her look. She is the dame of fashion and reminds me of Marylin Monroe era and style - but she is less sexy with no open cleavage but more sexy and elegant with dangling earings and other trimmings. Even if she wears something baggy like the hideous light-blue-white squares top she wore when GC came home, it still somewhat wraps tight around her bust. It is too bad we were seeing less of her bc she is a comical and pretty villain, but now... we get to see more of her LOL thanks to our friend the Dad LOL
I **finally** found some rules for matching tie shirt and suit. The tie has to match the eyes, I think, etc. Do Yoon looks great in dark gray suit with white shirt and tie that has navy, thin gray and burgundy. The very last scene ep 83. Overal the dark suit and tie matches the overall feel of his look with dark hair and eyes, and then the details bring it out. So burgundy in the tie matches the brown-redish tint in his eyes, and the white stripe makes the shirt stand out more, and the dark gray matches the color of his eyebrows, and dark gray and navy match the dark black hair that is shiney so it is not pitch black, and the white shirt and white stripe on the tie matches the pale in his face and also the shine in very dark black hair, which is bluish-silver. THAT is why silver looks good on him. Light blue shirt or light gray shirt looks good on him too bc of that shine in his hair and the face. GiChan in his brown-violet suits and shirt / one-color tie that just ugly blends with the suit ... looks ... well.. how to put it... he still looks good overall bc he is tall but the suit does not make him look beautiful and stand out, and the color scheme is ... murky unpleasant :) I always think wow GC outfit is so murky simple ugly.. He is dressed as a villain :) The outfit is so plain and dark so it contrasts his face and it does not take away from his FACE, and GC face is his most villain characterictic, he has an innocent and beautiful baby face that totally morphs into ugly evil when he starts talking LOL A beautiful gorgeous stunning villain dressed in dramatic black and burgundy in the drama Twelve is really interesting to watch visually :) AND his look hides the fact that he cannot act the villain :) If it werent' for photoshop tricks with red eyes, ... nothing says "villain"
I always had good eyes to tell IF something looks good. Now I advanced to the next step. So.... at this point I can analyze what looks good and why. But I dont think I can put it together on my own :) If you tell me to put an outfit for someone, I dont think I could do it just by thinking first, without actually grabbing some to see what looks good. Well at least some skill improved :)
When Mi Ran told Jae In she would protect her from now on and she would do all the nasty and dirty works needed…
to me that was her admission of how toxic she is, when she STILL thinks that - her family trained her to be an obedient robot slave and she is still in that mode
imo Lucia is suuuupper dumb, destroying her soul and creating bad karma , becoming more and more like them... she is now on a power trip, enjoying bratty harassments of her enemies
Which makes me think, this kdrama is written for some powerless girly girls who think it is so cool to see your enemy kneel in front of you. Heck no it isnt, esp since the enemy didnt change one bit and is even more angry and set for retaliation. Ooooh... I just realized - this "girly girl" thing is a part of what "manly man" criminals do - they make sure to humiliate and harass others... BUT they also grab what is important - $$$$
Oooh so this is how ALL ignorant ppl think - that power means power to harass others
As expected, Ms Bozo Lucia went to the dinner/proposal by bus and strolled alone without bodyguards. She had learned…
yah you are right he doesnt even give a ride to his date, what a lousy boyfriend UNLESS he was in some business meeting somewher far away bit sti;;. for THAT occasion he should have arranged to pick her up
Seon Jae, yet again, looking like an absolute clown. I'm tired of seeing him fail every single scheme. Let the…
Why dont you think that Mr Moon is a decent male character? I think he has integrity and maturity and wisdom and is a decent person. I find Tae Ju fishy. He has no life and no ... emotion. He behaves as a professional bodyguard. Who is he really?
Lucia's faces around Se Ri are kind but as soon as Se Ri cannot see her, Lucia makes nasty faces. THAT worries me that Lucia has become a lying monster.
Imo the best revenge is that Se Ri becomes a human being and Lucia forgives her
It's so apparent that LJH is in love with Mary Poppins. Perhaps he has realized it but didn't want to mess up…
Yeah exactly, I totally agree with everything in your post... and yeah I agree we need to find out WHY he refuses the cake but doesnt let anyone else eat it either... ...
Imo he is very very very IMMATURE. Selfish, proud, etc. He has a good kind caring side but hey it is soooo well covered up esp. now LOL And if the script wants to be good - we need to find out WHY he is this way. We need to see his layers, and the struggle between good and evil inside him.
At the start we saw his kind side and he was quite charming. THEN he showed his egotistic side and his criminality, self hate and prostitution for money!!!! and he turned into a 100% closed off ignoramus and that is boring to watch for too long :) Several episodes of his grumpy face so much on the screen was too much for me LOL.... Only villains can be like that, but that is why villains never get too much time on the screen :) bc they are too toxic and unpleasant. We need to find out WHY he is so wounded - is there a good reason for real, or not. IF he is going to be on the screen as the ML, he needs to show some deeper and caring layers. Only the drama villain is allowed to be one dimensionally egotistical all the time LOL The ML has to show effort to overcome it ....
These are my thoughts as someone who loves good storytelling and tries to figure out what makes it so :)
How is your dating life? So ... after he confessed that he forgot his ex, the next day they are progressing from…
Well I never thought you didn't like the drama :) I responded to what you SAID - that you weren't sure that there will be time for romance. So I told what I am seeing in the drama - that they are progressing big time :) I asked you what you think romance is? Bc some ppl think it is gonna be bed scenes or getting married or something like that :) Those two ARE progressing to getting ready to get married. Their relationship is super deep and strong on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. They are a true pair of matching lovebirds, so compatible. So I was telling you hey look, what you asked for is already there, look again. So yeah that is open discussion :) If I wasnt diplomatic to your liking,... thank you for your patience :)
Oh crap! That will be interesting!! (I wish the English subs weren’t 6 hours away!)Didn’t he already give her…
I was smiling when Moon was smiling :) he is so charming. Also, I was almost laughing when Chairman swallowed a frog while GC was lying in front of him, and her lying was sooo ... funny LOL
How is your dating life? So ... after he confessed that he forgot his ex, the next day they are progressing from…
I wasn't intending to offend you. Just read what I wrote and you might learn something from it. We can discuss our differing opinions. That is why there are comments. You see something, I see something, we exchange
I cannot understand when the lawyer actually works. That's why he is so skinny, he must be walking the halways like 10 miles per day He had some good faces today, like the one in Tue ep cliffhanger wow that is a face
This show needs to introduce a prosecutor who is determined to take Seon Jae down. A character like Seon Jae has…
Naaah... that's suicidal. It is going after GC and Mingang... risking one's life.... and why?? as far as I can tell, Mins are quite benevolent ... just 2 deaths in 4 years. ;) ... the slush finds etc are all ok under control.... Overall theyh are ok monsters and not worth the trouble There are those who are REALLY bad, like those in Lawless Lawyer or Again My Life. if you gonna risk your life to bring someone down, then those are the ones to go after
