Do we / the viewers know if JI is “truly” pregnant?I can’t imagine her sleeping with GC again, yet wanting…
AH! I am glad she didnt do aerobics with the killer. BUT how naive is he to think that something happened... ??? if it never happened any other time....
i do not understand what patrick sees in mi ran - and why isnt she telling him about his son? i think it is despicable…
MR is a hot babe. Check her out with objective eyes. Of course she can spoil it when she opens her mouth..... easily... LOL but sometimes she has nice things to say. THE MOST ATTRACTIVE THING IS THAT THE ROBOT MIRAN BEHAVES LIKE A HUMAN WITH PADDY. He is the only one ever ever ever that she listens to and behaves normal
Hallelujah! An angel came down and blew into Jae-In and she got pregnant. No, not really, it was all a ruse and…
i havent watched yet but you are saying Jae In went so far to do aerobics with HGC.. ??? wooow thats determination to revenge... aerobics with THE killer... ??? gross...
i watched several episodes yesterday bc I was stuck indoors so I kinda watched on automatic pilot... and then went for a walk.... and then OUT OF BLUE, IN ONE SECOND, twisted my foot and broke one foot bone. Wow. I am Native trained so I am fully aware that there ARE entities out there that could be good or bad, and utmost care and respect is needed. I also passed by some areas I found spooky and thought to myself that something lurks there. I also thought to myself numerous times as I was watching this kdrama that is is COMPLETELY disrespectful to the subject as it is commercializing and kinda TOYING with some heavy duty subjects and treats those heavy duty subjects too lightly and is actually inviting trouble. THE THINGS THAT THE DRAMA DESCRIBES ARE QUITE REAL, it exists, and the only way to keep oneself immune is to live a good life with good karma, good thoughts, deeds and speech... As I was thinking gees I should have not been watching that, inviting images of all that into my head and meaking it more and more real and more out there to get me.... BC NONE OF THIS STUFF IS NAIVE OR WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE, YOu kinda put those images and those entities in your mind and then it is easier for them to get ya because you are playing along with the ideas. And literally several minutes of that and ZAP! I twisted my ankle - without any much reason really!!!!! and broke my foot. It was so sudden, so unexpected, and at the very last 2 meters of my walk.
So .... I came home with a broken bone in my foot. So I asked the tarrot cards and draw the card Devil, just like the Evil Shaman Y.
I was thinking to myself that this kdrama is making some serious playfun with things that are REAL and could lash back, and yeah then I think I proved it yesterday. I have NEVER broken bones except one in my hand
And in a literally ONE SECOND, I broke my foot bone, and am in a cast for 6-8 weeks. BE CAREFUL EVERYONE some stuff is not to be just toyed with like this. For us to watch demons and shamanic rituals, and ghosts is not a small thing at all. I think it attracts those things. I have NEVER had anything like this happen in my my life, I was just peacefully walking - and then I thought of soemthing that worried me - and ZAP! in one second, my foot slid and the bone was broken.
The funny thing is that it is due to sandals too big and I was thinking I should nOT wear those for a walk and then I was too lazy and I just took them to wear. And here I am with a broken bone.
it is like... something monitors you and keeps hunting you and then if you make a mistake, ZAP!!! you are food
Wow yet another amazing performance of the ML actor from Hee Su in Class 2... That actor is amazing and involved…
Just a few days ago I figured out what actually happened to me and was able to put behind my past. The timing, required to get to this point was .... all my life LOL and finally 1 year of 24/7 as a sole caretaker of my elderly mother, still an abuser. I was able to catch her in the act on July 13 and then just a few days ago my brother confirmed it, so a lifetime of lies and manipulations became exposed. My mother is a perfect narcissist. Her lies made me a very confused an angry person, like Seong Wu or Yoona, and very closed, like that boy who never says anything, living like that for decades. The gaslighting is when someone you trusts tells you they love you but is abusing you. Tthere is no more doubt, about what my family does and suddenly I reached inner peace.
Wow yet another amazing performance of the ML actor from Hee Su in Class 2... That actor is amazing and involved in all interesting projects. The others are acting great too.
Imo this kdrama is a great piece of art and social commentary and qualifies for one of the kdrama classics. So far - this is ep 3 I am watching.
Imo the scenes are just right to convey what is happening. I do not like the fighting and car chases. I tolerated it bc it is a metaphor for the inner struggle of abused children.... there is lots of metaphores about lives of abused versus the abusers. And the social commentary on bad abusive parents who look good on the outside. And how hard it is to escape the gaslighting when you are raised to believe it - Seong Woo calling his mother is an example of how we all are - for years and maybe entire life - we BELIEVE IN GASLIGHTING - and if we are smart, like Kim when she was in school, we see through it, and we start to suffer. It is very hard to overcome, BECAUSE ABUSED CHILDREN ARE ESSENTIALLY HYPNOTIZED, like Yoo Na... Someone who is abusing you keeps telling you they love you and this is for your own good. And they KNOW it isnt. THat is the difference between an ordinary parent and a bad parent. Ordinary parent is doing something out of genuine care and that something can be wrong, like forcing you to eat lots of meat; an ordinary parent will stop their bad influence when they learn it is harming you
I first read the comments and then after lots of pondering and further research, watched ep 1. I first had to "train" to handle it bc I grew up as an abused child by manipulative selfish parents - a watered down version of what is shown in this kdrama but with the same psychological scars - you see how Seong Wu cries and Yoo Na is angry for being lied to and that older boy )not the preacher's kid) is always silent. So, imo I think this was filmed properly and it exposes something that is actually common in society - abusive, egoistical, crude parents. No parent is perfect and no parent can remove the karma of the children. The range of parents is from harmful to indifferent to caring in various degrees. When a parent is lacking, the child grows badly and it takes a lot of effort and luck to recover from that. This drama is a metaphor for what kids HAVE TO DO to recover - living in shambles, fighting, a lot of dilligence and persistence, .... for years and years. It is like living in hell and overcoming it. Perhaps it is about paying past karma, or learning something about people, I dont know, but I do know it CAN be overcome, and it requires a LOT of work. And the best way is to dive straight into it and SEE CLEARLY what is going on, without any rosey glasses.
What makes us connect or disconnect? I am trying to figure out what exactly about this drama makes ppl disconnected.
i just watched ep 51 of For Eagle Bothers, which started as a great spunky 50 episodes family drama, reached high ratings and got stuck at ep 20 - i suppose to preserve high ratings...? and was since super boring. I was waiting to see what will happen and nothing happened. Since it is ending soon, I will finish watching ut and then analyze.
SO TO CUT IT SHORT, in that boring ep 51 there are few extremely memorable moments with experienced actor who acts bad guy Dok Tak. Then there are long stretches with a pretty social influencer actress who acts Se Ri and is suuuuper boring to watch her bc she cannot act... and her arrogance comes out, she cannot act love for lovers that the script assigned to her
So I was wondering.. how this works. What makes Dok Tak be so interesting t watch although he is just eating a dinner in a restaurant, or sitting in a car, and talking. WHY is he so mesmerizing to watch. He is somehow ALIVE
Eagle Brothers has become this BLAH boring drama, ep 51 made me do some analysis just a few minutes of really excellent actor for Dog Tak bad guy character was the highlight and made it memorable, bc the actor is amazing. Paired up with the actress who acts his wife, they made some amazingly convincing, pull you in scenes. But it is HIM. When she is alone, it is not that convincing.
Then I watched more carefully scenes of Se RI, acted by a new actress who is apparently famous as a social influencer. She cannot act. Her facial expression is the same all the time, plus she is amazingly arrogant and cannot hug even her love assigned by the script. She kills the drama.
Gwang Suk actress is made cold and stupid by the script, making her run away from her own husband on their 1st wedding night, an also by her own lack of acting, her own internal arrogance leeking through in her acting, that grin face that has NO emotion for her husband-by-the-script. She cannot act., She lets her acting show her personal feelings. In other words, she cannot act.
So how and what exactly they do, I am still trying to figure it out. But if you are not feeling pulled in, it is definitely for a reason. What is it.. .is worth investigating :)
I think it started earlier than that. What do you think it is tho? Just a creative rut, or they started focusing…
Glory to me feels like a westernized thing. I will check the others. Generally speaking, to me, the main difference in western media and kdramas is that kdramas are about ordinary everyday people overcoming their difficulties in positive and productive ways.
For me:2016>>>>>>>2017....2019>>>2020>>>>>>2021>2022>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>…
EXACTLY the way it is going, it wont be worth watching But arent disney netflix etc all waiting for this to happen They will make sure it gets so dilluted that it dies
Right now they are in bc kdramas is $$$$ so they make kdramas bc it makes money. But they know only how to make trash, so they are trashing kdramas, and one day will just choke them to death. And also, that will eliminate their competition
After 2023, it seems kdramas went downhill, damn. That year was amazing, but then 2024 sucked and 2025 is sucking…
They are trying to make money in the West, there are 300 million americans and how many millions of europeans with lots of $$$$$ in their pockets. I dislike kdramas now trying to introduce english words and concepts and lifestyle, and tons of white powder on actors' faces to make them look white. The beds and big tables, the cofee, the toast, bread, fried chicken, wine, now ever western liquor... mentioning christmass, saying english words, saying how they live in the usa, travel there, now I see sleeping pills, ... Christian churches.... Of course it started with the clothes, all men wearing suit and tie, but THAT MUCH was enough to westernize it. I think it is going too far.
Bc yeah we from the west watch this because we dont like western stuff, and the moment this becomes too much like western stuff, I just will not watch it. As someone said, by year 2026, we wont be watching kdramas anymore bc they will become the BLAH stuff. Even worse, the desperate meaningless stuff. The common denominator for western media is that it is used for brainwashing into the culture of isolation and drugs, and so practically all media is made about some weirdos like gansters and whores and about desperate situations without any solutions and resolutions. There is nothing to LEARN from western media, just poison your aura with some toxic people and so-called relationships. Western media shows DOOM, desperation, no s solutions, dead ends, generally speaking, plus all the shocking and distracting and negative things like visual sex and violence. NO CONTENT. No story, no message, no leassons, no character growth, no resolving things, no family, no friends, no communication, no inter-generational stuff, NOTHING.
Generally speaking, to me, the main difference in western media and kdramas is that kdramas are about ordinary everyday people overcoming their difficulties in positive and productive ways. Kdramas promote and teach healthy lifestyle and healthy social interactions and CHARACTER GROWTH. You can LEARN from kdramas how to handle your life because you see SOLUTIONS. SEEING **** SOLUTIONS ***** AND CHARACTER GROWTH IS PRECIOUS. Western media shows you some weird situations and how people are STUCK in it. There is never change, never character growth. The main message is that you stuck and doomed.
So I am sure the evil ones from the west are watching this and thinking they gotta shoot kdramas asap bc it is just too good and too educational to see FAMILIES , COMMUNICATION, WARMTH, RESOLVING THINGS, to see good homemmade food, family eating together, people sleeping on the floor and sitting on the floor, etc. Those are all things that western consumerism totally PROHIBITS.
you gotta live single, buy your bed and tables and chairs and eat out, spending money, not being connected, bc if you are connected, you spend less... and it is more difficult to manipulate you. Simple creative fun like karaoke bar is NOT allowed in the West. It makes people too free, too creative, too inaccessible to manipulation, and also spending LESS. Bc you sing and dance and then you dont need to buy x y z to make you happy. I think simple FREEDOMS of Korean culture like going to a karaoke bar is what creates creative people who are more of free thinkers and less consumers.
kdramas are also used as a tool of brainwashing, as all media is, in kdramas it is sexism, the parental "i owe you", the societal "out of concern for ME and pretending I am doing it out of concern for you, it is ok to lie to your face", then all the drinking as a way of self help and a necessity to have an honest conversation, and so on. Luckily they dont show people who are chronics.
But - hey ... overall it is a LOT better than western media, so we watch it :) I really appreciate no drugs, no sex, no violence content that focuses on the story and character growth. I appreciate intergenerational dramas, I appreciate to see people sitting around a table on the floor eating home cooked meals with lots of veggies etc. I appreciate GOOD HEALTH that kdramas promote. I appreciate trying to resolve conflicts and coming up with solutions. So yeah kdramas are not perfect but they are the best out there so far. NO other country can pproduce such content. Somehow kdramas have WARMTH AND SANITY AND COMMON SENSE AND SOPHISTICATION, **** CREATIVITY *****, sense of refined humor, certain elegance and gentleness and depth. Japanese dramas are ... wow trashy for most part to be honest, something is seriously wrong with Japan, their sense of humor and the topic and the acting are too often... weird or too simplistic, and many I have seen promote yakuza etc. Clearly someone owns japan and its people.... . Chinese dramas are too cruel, crude, rough, fake, etc for most part. Thai can get so lewd. Somehow Koreans have THE creativity and the elegance and fun. Kdramas are fun. Koreans mix humor into everything and it is incredibly FUN to watch kdramas.
Kdramas just have that flavor of certain warmth, FUN, seeing things from the comical perspective, and pushing forward to make things better, all in a very ... sophisticated and NUTRITIOUS way. Healthy way
Chinese make the deepest stuff though WHEN they make it. Korea just doesnt have stuff like Xuan Zang 2016 movie about the Buddhist monk who walked to India for 5 yrs and then walked back to China with Buddhist texts. I have NOT seen Koreans make *such* deep stuff. Chinese suffer and so they get to be wiser and more appreciative of some things... and so when they come out with the depth, it is woooow. Even seemingly silly movies like Shaolim Kungfu are ***deeep***. So I will always watch cdramas and cmovies to check them out bc you never know. Japanese too, just in case, bc sometimes they come out with great stuff, like the drama about reviving the public bath house. THe acting was quite terrible but the story was so good. There was one more with Nano Seino who is an AMAZING actress. And zillion others I checked and said no thanks...
Yeah, it is MONEY but kdramas ... arent kdramas anymore. I also think the western studios are trying to shoot it down bc they dont want to lose money. Right now they are using this assimilation strategy where they invest into kdramas but they only know how to make trash, so they trash kramas and will eventually KILL THEM bc it will be just a fake imitation of the real thing. So at the end, they will eliminate the competition and dominate the market with the runofthemill cheap trash as usual.
THE MAIN POINT IS THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO WATCH IN THE WEST. American stuff is just garbage. Europeans sometimes still produce something nice but ....
The Queen's House and The Woman who Swallowed the sun are meaningful dailies so far. The first 17 episodes are…
Queen's house is torture until ep...30? lol until she starts living in Doc's house... until then she is too stupid to watch. After that it gets interesting. One drama I am thinking of rewatching is Twinkling Watermellon :) I would suggest Love Scout if you want "functional" romance Nice Guy has this sad tone S lines turned totally christian church style crazy
I also thought to myself numerous times as I was watching this kdrama that is is COMPLETELY disrespectful to the subject as it is commercializing and kinda TOYING with some heavy duty subjects and treats those heavy duty subjects too lightly and is actually inviting trouble.
