I mean, if it works, it works. Can't blame them for the hustle. From the start, this film reeks of classic corporate greed "Let's cast popular actors and bank on star quality to promote the movie" and is made with no passion at all. Heck, I believe that none of the production crew (at least those who have any say on what happens) even read and tried to understand the story and any of the characters. They have two separate target audience, fans of the original work, which already unanimously agreed that this film would be trash from the very first trailer (they already knew they weren't getting anything from base on the numerous backlash); and fans of the actors, who they hope won't care about the quality and would watch it anyway, so ig they went all-in on the latter.

She's not the main role. Everybody except AHS and LMH would fall more on being support roles. Keep in mind tat Mydramalist is an aggregate site, it's not official and tends to label actors/actresses as main role even though they aren't. Not to mention that its pretty much guaranteed her screen time would be 5 min or at best 10 min as she will most likely appear only at the later half of the film

In a Vacuum, 3.3% is indeed a strong start. the average rating for a show to be considered success is around 2%. The reason why the number seems low is cuz its a PAYED (cable) for view channel. Public channels tend to have higher rating, around 5%-10%. Also streaming sites such as netflix, which a lot of ppl use nowadays instead of paying for a cable channel aren't accounted for. However its important to also take note that its a star studded cast with it also being one of the most popular male actor's comeback which mkes it seems that the rating is mid. But first episodes rating aren't really that important since most kdramas if they have a good plot will increase in later episode when the plot actually advances.

stop complaining then. you knew that the drama was all about family. Why are you here complaining that there is too much family plot going on. xD

look at the title of the show. now look really really closely again. Tell me what word you see? Family right??? romance is merely a subplot. Familial relationship is the main point of the show, this include relationship with family member that would eb considered "bad" or "toxic" and also explore relationship with those that are not tied by blood.
