It’s not really trope-y. Both leads are relatively rich (even though they don’t flaunt it). ML isn’t so…
Yes, this a 100%! I actually enjoyed watching AYTO a second time around because knowing events and backstory allowed me to focus more on characters. It was more clear that FL feared ML fell in love with fake her (domestic goddess) and may not love the true her… Anyway, that’s a drama I periodically rewatch when I get annoyed with screenwriting of other dramas 😬
Watch beginning of episode 1 — ML’s friend convinces ML to come to Wuxi (FL’s hometown) because FL has been…
Yes, that’s why initially ML didn’t have a positive impression of FL until they got to know each other more.
And don’t feel bad — for the first 2-3 days I thought ML’s friend was FL’s cousin until someone in the comments mentioned otherwise (they look a bit similar) 😳🥺
Can someone who has read the novel please tell me why he was so mad at her at the beginning? Some comments below…
Watch beginning of episode 1 — ML’s friend convinces ML to come to Wuxi (FL’s hometown) because FL has been asking about ML (meaning, she wanted to meet him and is interested in him). Then ML got into an accident while driving over there (shown in Ep. 1) but FL didn’t come visit him in a hospital even once (flashback shown in a later episode). So ML is confused why only a year later FL has no memory of him and he has a somewhat negative impression of her because she didn’t visit him in a hospital even though he was driving up to meet her. Now, by now you may be able to guess what really happened, but we can spoil it for you if you want :)
At this rate, I think someone should chase ML to make the FL understand that he (ML) is a not a pushover and she…
For all intents and purposes, they are already dating (doing all the typical things couples do) but haven’t made it official yet. But events in the teasers will probably serve as the final push
From what I've read from other commenters XG doesn't pay the father or the mistress's daughter any mind, thank…
The other woman’s daughter wants others to think that she’s FL’s dad’s real daughter and that’s why she’s implying/hinting at that (you can tell from the conversation between her “friends”). That gives her more legitimacy compared to admitting she’s a nobody, not even an illegitimate daughter.

I put FH on pause to watch Love in the Clouds and When Destiny Brings the Demon (both great!) and forced myself to finish watching it (mostly on 1.5-2x speed). It totally didn’t get better and it’s one of few dramas I told friends to skip. Have you watched Are You the One? It got excellent writing and storyline that expands from a local conflict to war(s) and empire-wide events (ignore MDL synopsis which is of questionable accuracy).
P.S. I loved that mom in TFF didn’t get a redemption. To me, what she has done is unforgivable. Probably THE worst mother in a drama 😡🤬

You are welcome! I notice you are watching Fated Hearts — personally, first 15-16 episodes were great but then original screenwriters got kidnapped and replaced by random trope generators (I gave it 7.5 = 9.0 for leads + 6.0 for everything else). Have you watched Fireworks of My Heart? So much drama there (and a nomination for one of the worst C-drama parents, lol).

It’s closer to The Best Thing (multiple people mentioned it in the comments here). There’s some drama (like in TBT) but not a lot (not like TFF). I’m about halfway through S&L so no spoilers :) ☺️🫣
is this slow burn ? how's the pacing and overall vibe so far? worth starting now?
It’s really good so far. It’s slow-ish burn but it’s not super slow. For example, this is faster paced than Amonst a Snowstorm of Love. Maybe it’s slow for some people because there’s no huge drama/arguments; there’s some of that but it’s not super-mega intense. Monday-Wednesday we only have 1 episode per day. January 4 is when episodes 27-28 (SVIP) will be out.
hii what kind of trope(s) does this have? like cold ml/warm fl?
It’s not really trope-y. Both leads are relatively rich (even though they don’t flaunt it). ML isn’t so much cold to FL, he’s kind of disappointed/puzzled because of a misunderstanding in ep. 1. I suppose the main trope is 2ML that no one likes, lol
