I’ve not watched any micro-dramas because I really don’t know which ones are really good (ones my friends showed to be all look very low budget and cringey). That’s why I was curious if there were any that you liked.

He probably chose the strategy to always stay close to her and to slowly work his way into her heart. Is it going to be successful? Probably not, based on what we’ve seen so far. But I do think if he talked to other girls, Mina Sue would be more interested in him — she’s not shy about stealing guys other girls are interested in 🤣🙄

I agree but Netflix is doing what’s best for business. It gives more time for discussions, rumors, conspiracies, etc.

Agree with your take. This is not an idol drama but more of an adult drama where characters are more realistic and imperfect. And no cheating so far — unless someone has seen the whole drama, it’s impossible to know for sure.

No cheating so far. There may be some scenes in the trailer that are misleading because there have been some near-cheating situations like FL’s boss trying to hit on her (she turned him down) and ML kind of presenting another girl as his lover (but that’s not true)

I know how you feel! Since you are the expert, what short dramas do you like? I’ve never really watched them. Are there any good ones that are high quality, especially on the writing part? One of my pet peeves is often-lacking screenwriting even on high-budget dramas. I like things to be logical and logic is often missing from dramas (or, even worse, beginning episodes could be nicely written but then ruined later on *cough* Fated Hearts *cough*).

I’m an older person too, but loved WIFTY. You’ve probably already watched two other dramas from the same author: Hidden Love (definitely not for guys, I’d say) and The First Frost (for a more adult audience but definitely not for watching before bed). A new drama from that author is coming later in 2026 but they haven’t announced the exact date yet.

And, oh, director of WIFTY directed Love Between Lines that just finished airing. Also a very good show (not as good as WIFTY or TFF).

Lastly, if you haven’t watched The Best Thing, put it on your list. It’s mostly chill and very heartwarming.

ML & 2ML were together in Love Between Lines (just finished) and his character there was a lot more entertaining. He had great chemistry with FL’s bestie.

Actually, the task is for FL to get ML to fall in love with her and propose. The program didn’t ask for FL to fall in love with ML.

Sigh, I really hope episodes 8-12 right the ship and the show won’t be about only one person. It’s clear people didn’t like that in Season 4, producers swore they learned their lesson and now we just had 3+ episodes of Pick Me Sue 😳🫣😒

You are welcome! YAMG is a good watch before bedtime because it’s pretty chill (relatively speaking) and definitely can be watched before bedtime.
But, if you like shorter dramas, have you watched When I Fly Towards You? It’s 24 episodes of about 25-30 minutes each so it qualifies as short in C-drama land 😁

Definitely skip Season 4. I’d watch seasons 1-3. Season 2 is probably the most important one in the show lore — Dex was a contestant on the show (and became a host for later seasons) and it also featured Shin Seul-ki who has become an actress now & has won multiple awards (not Oscar-type awards but still). Additionally, season 2 probably has the most K-drama-like ending.

Very true! People like her exist in every country/culture (even on this show, prior “villains” were foreign-raised). And we wouldn’t make a big deal about being indecisive or needing to take time to get to know people, but Mina Sue is going about it all wrong and, additionally, throwing others under the bus 🚌

YAMG is excellent if you have correct expectations going in. It’s not super serious by any means but it’s more adult than Love O2O. The leads are out of college and have been working for awhile (late 20s? don’t remember). But I really like the relationship between the leads — there are no endless misunderstandings. Once they decide to be together, things are handled in adult manner without anything crazy. There’s also an important topic of pursuing your dreams versus chasing money. I love space-related movies/shows, so it was also cool to see that side. Content wise, I’d say first half was mostly about the video game and then the rest is more relationship and work focused (on both ML & FL side). Video game scenes are also way better done than in Love O2O series.

TL;DR version — YAMG isn’t my 10/10 drama but I’ve watched it multiple times. It’s very enjoyable because of the leads and the script that’s more grounded and doesn’t have tired/annoying tropes.

I honestly don’t remember much about the drama version but you have good points. I was very surprised to learn the series was a huge hit in China — maybe it has to do with domestic audience being fans of the game featured in the show. I’m a fan of YY, but I tend to forget he was Love O2O. “You Are My Glory” is a much better drama for me personally (same author & also about a game available only in China at that time) and, hey, unlike the Love O2O series actress, Dilraba isn’t cancelled 😬😳
