Sigh, you are right… it’s one of those things we just have to suspend our disbelief and accept what happened. She loves her family so the writers want us to think she forgot about everything when she heard the terrible news.

Haha… Have you watched When Destiny Brings the Demon? ML there wants to kill everyone, lol 😆 He keeps FL around only because she’s literally the only person who doesn’t want him dead (FL traveled from the modern world so she views this as a vacation and opportunity to chill).

SL succumbing to evil once again demonstrates him being different from JBZ who managed to NOT succumb to them. In a perfect world, I’d love a happy ending where SL + Lady Fox are a pair but I think the writers wanted to show that — just like in a real world — good people can be tempted by bad things and aren’t always strong enough to withstand the temptation.

Filipino dramas too; I actually loved one of them despite FL not telling ML about pregnancy & then denying the baby was his. It made for such a sweet scene when he finally finds out the cute little girl is his 🥰🥰🥰

SL is definitely a tragic character and generally helps heroes but he also violates personal boundaries. He blatantly took FL’s hairpin (which meant she couldn’t protect herself and was almost tortured to death). Then he put a spell on her and force-fed her his heart-blood medicine. So it was a gradual slide into being more & more obsessed/morally gray until he became fully evil in the end.

SL is definitely a character with a tragic backstory but you are correct in your view of him. He’s presented as being the opposite of JBZ. SL does good deeds explicitly and emotionally blackmails MY asking for her love. Whereas JBZ does good things for MY without expecting anything in return (some things are done covertly without her knowing). But SL wouldn’t have had a chance even without JBZ :)

One of the big themes of this genre is obeying your master’s [last] wishes. FL knows that ML promised his master to not let GMD see the light of day and she’s unwilling to tell him the truth because she knows that he’d give her GMD & betray his master. Of course, it’d be better if they were more honest with each other but, honestly, so many dramas do it even worse, so it wasn’t a big deal for me personally. But check out When Destiny Brings the Demon if you want something with more communication :)

I second the recommendation of When Destiny Brings the Demon. Just like this show, it’s a little silly at the beginning but gets better over time. And it has so, so many kissing/intimate scenes — the couple in WDBTD wrote the dual cultivation manual that FL in LITC is reading 🤣😁

There’s also FL’s BFF + a warrior from another tribe/region.

Definitely good romance here. It’s a little silly in the beginning but gets more serious as it goes along.
Also highly recommend When Destiny Brings the Demon — that show is even steamier (we are pretty sure censors fell asleep because they allowed so many kissing/intimate scenes, lol).

As you will understand in a little bit, JBZ and MY care about each other a whole lot, they just don’t always show it outright :)

There will be more in what exactly happened 100 years ago. But I wouldn’t focus on blocked spiritual veins all that much — it’s really not one of the major plot points of this drama :)

Somehow, this drama makes me want to rewatch Love to Hate You 😁

If we are being VERY, VERY generous, we could pretend that the sister wanted to make money for the family. But, of course, it was a very unwise decision to take the savings AND take a loan on the house. I’m sure, though, that FL will reconcile with her sister (that’s how dramas work). I’m also sure Ml will not reconcile with his sister.

MDL summary isn’t helping matters because it’s wrong 🙄
