Haha, totally agree. So often the dramas are completely different. The Immortal Ascension was pretty close to the source book but it’s an exception (and, even then, it was closer to donghua based on the book).

It’s good so far (7.9 is likely some sort of downvoting that can’t really be explained). But it’s hard to predict what will happen over the course of all 40 episodes. One thing for sure, it’s going to take some time for heroes to develop romantic feelings for each other. They both have much bigger concerns like revenge and finding traitors (they will unite over those pursuits).

There’s no second life in the drama. MDL summary is taken from the novel not the drama. From what novel readers have said, drama is looking quite different plot-wise, so we can’t even reliably guess as to what will happen.

Yes, both things are true. The company is in serious trouble because of debt they took to build a fake plant in Texas and ML & FL will break up for a little bit (half an episode or an episode) as is common. Thankfully, it’s a 12-episode drama so they will be together again soon

Rule Number 1 — do not trust K-drama trailers 🫣 They often misrepresent scenes (like voiceover is from Scene A but video is from Scene B) or show things not from the next episode but from later episodes.

It speeds things up and makes it a 12-episode drama instead of 16-episode drama 😁 But I get your point — not really her place to say all those things. Still, it kind of brought them together quicker :)

It’s not really instant love or enemies-to-lovers because of the plot and things that occur in the very beginning (don’t want to spoil anything). Both heroes have bigger fish to fry, so to speak. Think of it as a revenge drama where heroes will eventually come together united by common goals.

Pretty sure even Duke of Ning knew she was bluffing but he couldn’t take any chances his family could lose face.

It’s quite good through 7 episodes. FL is shown to be a strong character. But how everything will develop — who knows. It’s always dangerous to watch a drama before it finishes airing. Too many screenwriters/directors elect to do something to sabotage our enjoyment 🙄

Right now, the main villain shown is Duke of Ning and his minions. But we don’t know who stole weapon secrets and who was responsible for fake intelligence which led ML’s family went into the trap.

The initial reaction from the crowd was orchestrated by people bad guy planted in the crowd (you can see him giving a signal). The positive reaction was organic. But I totally see your point :)

This drama going from 8.1 (episodes 1-5) to 7.9 (eps. 1-7) is really strange as episodes 6-7 were really good. Ultimately, MDL ratings don’t matter though (platforms/financiers use other metrics), so I’ve grown accustomed to not caring all that much. Especially since everything is subjective. I’ve watched 7.8-7.9 dramas that I ended up liking much better than 8.5+ dramas.
