It’s a very nice drama to watch before falling asleep… except if you are hungry 😁

One of my most favorite modern C-dramas is about the lives of corporate workers (ML - investment banker; FL - lawyers) — “Fake It Till You Make It”.
It’s really good, has realistic portrayal of business/corporate world, and is refreshingly short by C-drama standards. Awesome soundtrack too!

There’s a trend amongst young people in China (and other countries) to be like that.

(1) His plan to defeat ML involved sacrificing 300,000 civilians in the city. (2) He shot FL (the love of his life and fiance-to-be. (3) He organized and ran death camps using kidnapped children (which is where FL & her sworn brothers came from). That’s just the highlights.

I would say it’s definitely not a drama that can be watched in a background or just by listening to dialogue. You have to pay careful attention to action on the screen 📺

Will let you know if it has a strong ending. But halfway through it feels like a great detective/investigation drama, quite a bit of good action too. Probably can’t say much more without some spoilers :)

The writers easily could have made him 100% evil or 100% not-very-evil but they are doing a 50/50 split here (maybe that will be justified by the ending?). I didn’t see Flourished Peony on your list (or its second season - In the Name of Blossom) but — for all its missteps with writing — it had a truly impressive evil bad guy (despite his sad story) and an unhinged bad girl (who also had a sad story, lol). They were more interesting characters than 2ML and 2FL here 🙄

I agree with you. Novel readers mentioned that 2ML wasn’t as horrible of a person in the book, so maybe this backstory came from that. But, ahem, seems like the writers forgot a lot of bad things he has done or planned to do 🙄🤨😳

Oh, I think I remember Horizon Towers from your recommendations. I’m halfway through watching Mobius on Netflix and it’s very interesting so far. Very different feel from a typical modern C-drama.

Oh, which one? The Resurrected? Is it good?
