Very true. At this point ML and FL are both going on about their business. Yes, there was a thing that had happened but it was an accident.

To be fair, at this point neither ML nor FL are in love with each other or anything like that. Some, ahem, “things” had happened between them but it wasn’t because they both desired it.

This is not a romance drama — it’s about ML’s journey to immortality. Any romance is secondary to the main goal. FL is a reserved experience cultivator/leader, so Gina is playing her well.

For all we know, this could be like a post-funeral intimate scene after everyone had already left.

A lot of it was shot on location instead of sets or green screen.

So far in the drama Mo girl is more of a gentle person who cares about ML so maybe that’s why public likes her more right now. FL isn’t exactly pining over ML and is a bit cooler (because she’s an advanced cultivator).

Mo can’t be a romantic interest here because she can’t be a cultivator (she lacks spirit root). So she realizes that it’s futile to even attempt to be with ML because he’s not on the same timeline as her.

“Romance” tag is wrong because any romance is secondary to the main character’s journey to achieve immortality. Also, they made actor look young on purpose because he’s supposed to young when he starts off on this journey (in the novel he’s 10-11?, but here they made him a bit older). We don’t know FL’s age but she’s a pretty advanced cultivator, so she might be hundreds of years old for all we know, 😆

I hope Legend will be good 🙏 BTW, ignore MDL summary for AYtO — it’s partially (mostly?) incorrect. But throughout Ep. 1 the drama will explain what’s going on, who is who, and why this is happening. The plot has some twists & revelations, so be wary of spoilers too.

Oh, yeah, I know how you feel *looks at this watchlist 😳* But do try AYtO (it’s even free on YouTube). WCR is very good in this drama. Her character is mostly very capable & self-reliant, but it’s not nearly to the level of Peony/Blossom ☺️

If you haven’t watched it yet (not your completed list), check out Are You the One. It’s a bit lighter in tone and also has way, way better writing and plot (no tropes, characters behave logically, heroes do smart things). It starts with a local conflict (search for bandit leader) but expands to cover war operations, politics and empire-wide events. All of that in just 40 episodes ;)

They are very fun together but more like brother & sister (despite her best attempts).

Ah, I see. No wonder they dominate release calendars :)
