100% agree. We can see what the writers have in mind, but they hadn’t made us care about The Princess and the Evil Prince at all. Everykne seems to dislike her and the Prince is super evil. It’s unfortunate The Princess probably won’t get a happy ending, but that was her choice.

I suppose there are people like him in real life, but he comes off as unnecessarily petty. It’s not like his family was executed or severely punished. His dad is a trusted general and he himself is living a carefree life of luxury. Back at that time, that’s better than being in a position of power and everyone scheming against you.

Totally agree! fast-forward those scenes at 2x at this point. They failed at making The Princess a likable character so why are we supposed to care?

Agree. They didn’t make her a likable character, so why are we supposed to care about what happens to her? She brought this on herself, unfortunately.

First third of the show spoiled us by having so many scenes with the leads. Now, when it’s something else (like the second “couple” or the conspiracies), it’s seems bland by comparison 😁❤️‍🔥

That’s literally FL’s biggest secret and he just blabbed it to that lady! She’s nice nice but very shrewd.

This is kind of a fake triangle because Situ Ling has no shot with the FL. But he seems nice (if a bit clueless), so hope he finds a good girl for himself.

It’s very hard to evaluate C-dramas until they finish airing. So often they start strong but stumble in the middle (filler episodes) or the end. For example, Fated Hearts was very good for episodes 1-16 but writers made some questionable choices in 17-20 (haven’t watched 21 & 22 yet).

Netflix is on the same pace as VIPs. It makes sense for them to not have SVIP (TVOD) episode because it’s part of an extra package YOUKU charges for. But even then so, it’s pretty nice having Netflix release on the same date instead of being a week or two behind as often happens.

Bot accounts and anti-fans are common, unfortunately. Not saying it goes on here but I did notice a weird AI-feeling comment here already (had nothing to do with this drama). Why people feel the need to downvote drama of actors/actresses they don’t like (or for some other silly reason), I don’t know. MDL ratings aren’t in any way relevant to the success of a show because other metrics are used.

At that point ML had already disarmed his sister so she couldn’t hurt herself. So, yes, he could have easily taken them back to the palace. I realize they needed to get newlyweds out of the city and also to show how much Princess wanted to leave, but I feel like they could have done it some other way. 🤷‍♂️

We are not questioning the fact that 2ML needs to leave Susha :) But the escape could be written better. ML (and FL) tried very hard to catch up to the newlyweds, caught them, fought against them, won and then… ML just decided to let them go? 😳🙄😧

I see the logic behind writer’s decisions of why they did these things (to move the story along, to show backstory, etc, etc) but I guess what I am trying to say is that they didn’t do their job well and it could have been done better :)

I’ve learned it’s dangerous to watch dramas just because of the actors in it. A good script is much more important to avoid having to pull out your hair. For example, the cast of Flourished Peony is very good (along with just about everything else), but first 15-16 episodes of Season 2 weren’t necessary because writers just inserted them to prolong things and to torture our heroes (and viewers).

Just noticed this actress was in Zhang Wan Yi’s Si Jin (need to watch, sigh) and will be in Wang Chu Ran’s upcoming Hidden Shadow. 😳😳😳

Once I figured out how there may still be a way for the Lady Doctor to rekindle her romance with the Good Brother, I immediately thought of your admiration for that actress and how that turn of events would please you wholeheartedly /S 😁
