Thank you! Your explanations are always very meaningful :) Actually, that Storm Alliance is probably the thing that intrigues me the most at this point in the story. Very curious to find out what’s going on there and how they can heal so well 🤨

Maybe the local audience is tolerant of questionable writing choices but it’s strange seeing many C- and K-dramas make similar mistakes time and time again.
Makes me really appreciate the quality of screenwriting in “Are You the One” where everything was logical and/or understandable.

Yes, in many (most?) dramas that family would be executed or stripped of titles & banished to the North Pole. It’s hard to feel bad for MY given he’s still a member of a prominent family and living a good life.
Honestly, at this point I am not even very interested in the conspiracies/court intrigues or whatever happens in that other kingdom with the second couple. I’d be perfectly fine with ML cleaning house (Prime Minuster, MY, etc.), becoming emperor and then marching to “pacify” his sister’s country 😁

I think in subtitles they translated it as Storm ⛈️. We will find out soon enough though :)

I’m usually understanding of dramas showing us storylines of secondary characters, but in this drama the only people we truly care about are FL & ML. Other characters haven’t been presented well enough for us to care. Introducing their sad backstories doesn’t excuse anything if a person is truly evil, for example.

It’s interesting to hear someone feels sad for those characters. Personally, I don’t think bad characters here have been presented as fully as in some other dramas, so it’s hard to care about them anymore.

It’s kind of hard to care much about her (or what’s going on in that country period). Writers made her so unlikable, why would we start caring now? 🙄

At least, that’s realistic. She wanted to be the main woman in his life. But I bet she won’t have a good ending here.

To add to the above, I believe ML+FL also have a kid in the novel.

I also guessed at this :) The signs were there early on that they’d be a third couple (if we count The Evil Prince and The Lovestruck Princess as second couple).

Let’s be honest, his family was lucky to not suffer a harsher punishment for almost letting ML die (based on how this is typically handled in other dramas). He’s living a privileged life and should count his blessings.

Yes, 100% agree with you! At this point, I’m watching scenes without lead(s) at 1.5-2x because it’s hard to care about unlikable characters. I feel bad for the Princess but she brought it on herself. And the Prince is a hugely evil person so a sad backstory won’t make us feel bad for him.

100% agree. We can see what the writers have in mind, but they hadn’t made us care about The Princess and the Evil Prince at all. Everykne seems to dislike her and the Prince is super evil. It’s unfortunate The Princess probably won’t get a happy ending, but that was her choice.

I suppose there are people like him in real life, but he comes off as unnecessarily petty. It’s not like his family was executed or severely punished. His dad is a trusted general and he himself is living a carefree life of luxury. Back at that time, that’s better than being in a position of power and everyone scheming against you.
