You are welcome! I found some hidden gems from recommendations here, so trying to do my part :) If you will like the ML, he’s also in 2024 drama “You Are My Lover Friend”. It’s the best friends-to-lovers drama (hard to pull off; also has two other good couples). My all-time favorite is “When I Fly Towards You” (high school/college; short; completely relaxing, drama free and funny; same author as HL and TFF). For adult romance my recommendation is “Fake It Till You Make It” (also short; has a realistic feel; leads are banker and lawyer). Lastly, for fans of lighter historical/costume dramas there’s “Are You the One” with Wang Chu Ran (FL lead as this drama).

Have you watched The Day of Becoming You? It’s a 2021 C-drama that is very humorous and with a good dose of romance. Technically, it’s a body-switching drama but it’s more about understanding other people and seeing things from their perspective. And, of course, there’s recent The Best Thing but you’ve probably watched it.

If this were airing on Tencent/WeTV, this would have been the last scene of this drama — Yang Yang wakes up next to Dilraba who is cuddled up with their baby son, looks around at posters for Honor of Kings, and says “Whoa, what a strange dream I had!”…. 😂🤣😁

Second drama where Gina Jin’s character won’t end up with Yang Yang’s character? 🤣

Since the book is very long, are they really going to do only 1 season? Or will it be multiple seasons/multiple dramas (like Flourished Peony and In the Name of Blossom)?

Reasonble = reasonably good (for me personally, lol). But, I agree that in general a finale should fit with the rest of the storytelling. I’m still grumpy about the last 1-2 episodes of The Demon Hunter’s Romance.

Love the leads so don’t know if my heart would be able to handle this without a happy ending or, at least, a possibly-happy open ending 🙏

The Best Thing is very, very good. It’s not THE best thing (misleading name, lol) but it’s very nice, mostly stress-free (except some things in the beginning & the end), and is definitely recommended, especially if you like one of the leads. It was being released about the same time as The First Frost and many TFF watchers (myself included) calmed ourselves by watching TBT after TFF :)

To be fair, in TFF we see a LOT more of things from FL’s side that explain what happened and why she is the way she is. That’s even setting aside differences in causes of separations.

I enjoy slow-burn dramas (not everything needs to be very exciting/dramatic) but found this show to be more on the boring side. The two couples are good together though.

It’s on Tencent/WeTV (at least, in the U.S.). The leads are good and two couples look good together. But there’s too much filler material, especially with military side. It’s almost always just training/exercises and it’s shot quite boringly.

In the drama version the Drake/Katrina thing appears to be just Drake’s plot to prevent his dad from re-marrying. Not very smart but definitely more appropriate than the book version.

Maybe they should just skip all of that and go straight to Book 3 (fanfic published in 2020, lol 😆 It covers their relationship after marriage apparently.

In the show so far Tripp is okay — he hasn’t said or done anything bad, just trying (and failing) to talk to Alys. Honestly, Drake needs a good therapist. And — based on a summary of Book 2 — so will Alys and the other girl 🤰

WOW, I suppose trying to break up the marriage for mom’s sake is better than the book version 😳 I’m aware of main story beats for Book 1 & 2 and very curious how they are going to set up Season 2. Or maybe they will skip it altogether — have DNA test for the baby show Drake is the father, have Katrina marry Drake and have Alys be happy with the other guy 😁
