What happened in the book that they needed to change? I saw them mention (in the making-of documentary) making the show more acceptable to modern audiences but they didn’t go into details.

My money is just on him being overly protective of his mom and not wanting dad to marry anyone. Katrina seems super nice and she was his teacher.

It’s clearly a misdirection and part of his futile attempts to ruin dad & Katrina’s relationship. Why is be being so loyal to mom is really the question. Mom passed away in 2015 based on the tombstone 🪦

He’s obviously not the father. But his loyalty to mom is way, way overboard and kind of dumb.

I really, REALLY hope they soon give a great explanation about Drake’s desire to prevent the happy marriage between his dad and Katrina. Doing all of this just to be loyal to mom is way, way too much. His mother passes away in 2015 — let dad be happy.

The lead actress embodies her character about as well as Jenna Ortega does Wednesday… She was even casually dropping “Sheen my loves” during behind the scenes videos, lol.
FYI, there’s an MV for one of the songs from that drama and it stars ML & FL but as a generic adult couple (not as high school characters). Hopefully that’s a preview of things to come in season 2 (if they make it).
Lastly, apparently there’s a fanfic/sequel Book 3… it was also published on Wattpad (in 2020). I guess if they wanted to make a trilogy, they could buy the rights to that book too 🤣

I think both episodes 18 & 19 are coming out today.

Episode 7 (of 16) will be released in 11 hours. Final episode comes out last week of September. But the show is pretty good so far, similar vibe to cheesy American teen movies from 2000s (Wattpad novel came out in 2012, so no wonder). And fortunately there are only two books to film not six like the University Series 😬

This drama is only 9 days old :) In that period of time, exactly ONE episode of “Seducing Drake Palma” has aired on Viva One 🥺😳🤣

The drama (and the book?) tries to combine two genres: nice relaxing coming-of-age / slice of life drama + traumatizing upbringing / separated lovers drama. It’s hard to do in so few episodes. WIFTY and TFF succeeded because they mostly stuck to one genre. This is still a good drama and let’s hope upcoming episodes will be even better.

Nice! TFF is very good 😊 I feel bad for ERL cast. It was a pretty average drama so I hope they at least got paid well for it. I am not very familiar with ratings for Asian dramas — for American shows ratings are a lot more important because it matters for renewal/non-renewal. Most Asian dramas are one season long, so we usually don’t end up with unfinished stories unless creators decide to do an open ending/set up for season 2 and never produce it (which may happen with The Demon Hunter’s Romance, I guess).

To be fair, this is different from Ski into Love. Here they always planned on 24 episodes (and book is short, apparently) and that’s how many they filmed. On the other hand, Ski into Love had more episodes filmed than what was released originally so they had to do some major cuts. Now, OG does have some deleted scenes but that’s true with all movies and dramas. Even 40-episode long dramas (like Fireworks of My Heart) have deleted scenes.

I think she has good friendship with both groups. But it’s nice that her roommates are older because they can impart some wisdom to her.

Her roommates are very nice. It’s probably food for her that she’s rooming with older students as it gives her better perspective on life.
