Watch end of Ep. 11 and beginning of Ep. 12. But this drama is not about romance at all. It’s about main character’s journey to attain immortality. This is based on a very long novel (and there’s also an animated donghua that’s ongoing) and novel readers told us the full-on romance between ML & FL is going to happen much later in the story (that part might not even be covered by live action because it happens hundreds of years later).

I was mostly kidding. But this might be the only chance we get to have actors finish off the story. It’s hard for a C-drama to get two seasons but this may need a few more.

Yes, the novel is called “A Record of Mortal's Journey to Immortality” for a reason 😁 It’s not “A Record of How I Fell in Live with 200-year old Woman” ☺️🤣

Paying for SVIP (TVOD) is highly dependent on a drama and whether you interact a lot with other viewers. I’m paying for SVIP for this one because I enjoy discussions in the comments but everything would be spoiled to me if I fell behind, lol 😆

Just remember it could be way worse — fans of dramas from Japan and Philippines get only 1 episode per WEEK (Korea gets two per week usually). Same for US and Canadian shows which generally come out once per week too.

I proposed earlier that they do very detailed 3D scans of all actors. Then in 5-10 years when technology gets cheaper, they can re-do donghua with live-like 3D models :)

Highlander (movies & TV show) explored how difficult it is for a truly immortal person (who doesn’t just live forever but can’t die). In that world other people aged normally, so he had to ensue a lot of pain and heartbreak.

Haven’t they been making donghua so long, they went back to remake early episodes (season 1?) to be more like current episodes? 😁

MDL ratings are only slightly better than Viki ratings when it comes to figuring out what’s good or not. It’s always best to read some reviews and look over some comments to get a feel for a drama.

Given how quickly the bad guys are taking over kingdoms and strongholds, I have a feeling a strong barrier would be a nice thing to have for survival 😳

I’d say it’s more on the lighter side. There are so bad things that happen, but the tone is not super serious. Just don’t expect romance. Think of it as an RPG or an action-adventure game — hero is on his journey, leveling up, gathering loot, learning new skills, and so on.

Will probably switch over to donghua (animated version of the novel) after the season is over :) The crazy thing is that the novels are so large, 150+ episodes of donghua cover only 1/5 or 1/6 of the books. Someone joked donghua will be over in 2040, but I’m not sure if that’s a joke 🤣😁

Very true. If this were a more straightforward drama, he would have set her up with the artifact crafter guy. But here we have to wait until Season 10 for her to be reincarnated with a spirit root.

Didn’t he spit blood because he was injured? while with Mo, he was hiding extent of his injuries so she wouldn’t worry.

Keep mind this drama is all about ML’s cultivation (path to immortality), so there’s very little romance. It’s best to think of there being just one main character and everyone else — supporting actors. So this is not going to be like, say, LBFAD-level romance or anything like that.
