Keep mind this drama is all about ML’s cultivation (path to immortality), so there’s very little romance. It’s best to think of there being just one main character and everyone else — supporting actors. So this is not going to be like, say, LBFAD-level romance or anything like that.

Ohh… It’s really good but they cut some scenes that set things up, I think. If you are ever going to attempt it again, you have to know that FL’s family caused the breakup and continued to do bad things to ML even after that. But FL is completely unaware of any of those post-breakup events. Some Cnetizens also loved FL’s brother but I found his storyline not very interesting. I watched the drama for the leads (🔥🔥🔥) and really great fire/rescue scenes. Those were really impressive and episode 1 is just a small tease of things to come.

I think she’s just portraying her character well — the FL character doesn’t have any romantic feelings for ML. She’s not like Mo or other women who are openly pining for ML.

Very true. At this point ML and FL are both going on about their business. Yes, there was a thing that had happened but it was an accident.

To be fair, at this point neither ML nor FL are in love with each other or anything like that. Some, ahem, “things” had happened between them but it wasn’t because they both desired it.

This is not a romance drama — it’s about ML’s journey to immortality. Any romance is secondary to the main goal. FL is a reserved experience cultivator/leader, so Gina is playing her well.

For all we know, this could be like a post-funeral intimate scene after everyone had already left.

A lot of it was shot on location instead of sets or green screen.

So far in the drama Mo girl is more of a gentle person who cares about ML so maybe that’s why public likes her more right now. FL isn’t exactly pining over ML and is a bit cooler (because she’s an advanced cultivator).
