I'm liking the drama so far, but they haven't given us the "HOOK". It feels like a random story, and we don't…
There are two things going on right now: relationship between FL & ML and then ML & Emperor investigating the conspiracy. Not the most complicated story ever but enjoyable so far (through Episode 10).
It’s really good so far for what it is — it’s a lighthearted costume drama that is more funny than serious. There’s some serious stuff of course but mostly comedy with romance thrown in. Definitely an easy watch.
People who read the novel mentioned it had a lot of bedroom scenes. As usual, the drama is more tame (so far,…
Thanks for the added detail. In the context of the show so far, it actually makes more sense for them not to spend a wedding night together. But I’m always amused at the censorship for adaptations. There’s a really good modern drama where heroes kiss but there are no fade-to-black moments or bedroom scenes. And then… there’s a pregnancy scare! I thought I’d missed something but even after re-watching the drama there were no hints of them being intimate 😁
Man… I was just tryna pass time till Prisoner of Beauty drops, and now look at me—HOOKED!! That ML is too…
People who read the novel mentioned it had a lot of bedroom scenes. As usual, the drama is more tame (so far, at least). But the leads do look good together. The second couple is also very nice:)
Step-mother here was not that bad (at least, she tried to do it very subtly). The step-sister character is a nice…
I definitely see your point. The tone of the show is not very dark so I think step-mom was just trying to get FL kidnapped without any physical harm being done to her. Juat the fact that FL was kidnapped would have ruined her reputation (for exactly the reason you mentioned).
On Ep 6 why didn't she just tell her father who the man was since she's engaged to him already? I don't get it.
I interpreted that as her giving a chance to others to dig themselves an even deeper grave by continuing to be even harsher and more disrespectful to her. Even if ML didn’t come in, she could have explained it and made others look bad.
Why does there always have to be an extremely obnoxious and terrible step-sister and step-mother It has to be…
Step-mother here was not that bad (at least, she tried to do it very subtly). The step-sister character is a nice change of pace from many other dramas — instead of being bad behind the scenes, the step-sister is just so blatant and confrontational about it.
Kidnapping before the wedding was ordered by FL’s stepmother — it was done to sully FL’s reputation and to force ML to marry FL’s stepsister as a replacement. But, overall, FL’s godparents are very evil too which is why they pushed for the original marriage to the bad family.
i believe the director add this kind of thing to make different path of story bcs in the novel, ML and FL is very…
Removal of bedroom activities is done almost (?) every time when adopting a novel/webtoon. The funniest example is “Amidst a Snowstorm of Love” where there is a pregnancy scare even though no bedroom scene is ever shown before that 🤣
Ep 7: Alright, what's with this contract marriage nonsense? It's not in the novel, if I remember correctly, and…
It’s not a contract marriage in a modern sense — there will be no divorce. This is more of a typical marriage of convenience — FL just really wanted ML to promise to take care of her family and to treat her well. She could ask for it because this marriage is mutually beneficial to both of them.
