Someone needs to provide a link to the donghua episode that must have a more, ahem, extended version of THE scene in Ep. 12 😉

First season was very, very good and rightfully deserves its rating (if we round it up, Season 1 = 9/10; Season 2 = 8/10). Season 2 is rated lower because some (many?) parts feel like elaborate attempts by screenwriters to not make fans happy. The actors are great and everything else is very well done.

It held steady at 8.2 for awhile but dropped down to 7.9 a day or two ago. Too few people vote early on (and many are actually anti-fans) so for the first week or two it’s more reliable to use comments to get a feel for what’s going on (and sometime we’ve seen MDL have bugs in early rating).

He definitely needs to get faster at using the last talisman. FL wasn’t very pleased 😆

The fight scenes in this drama have been done very well.

Instead of causing drama, Drake should have followed Kent’s lead and helped his girl study for the exam 😒

They even redeemed Sheen & Kei couple and gave it a sweet ending.

It’s surprisingly good even for a person who didn’t read the novel or watch the donghua. One thing to remember — it’s a story about main character’s journey to immortality so that’s the main focus. Any romance is secondary unlike most dramas. After all, the title of the novel is “A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality”.

Just checked — she first appears in Ep. 5.

Yes, I understand that it was the screenwriter who had a HE in mind. Novels change a lot when they are being adopted, so even if the novel was finished, the plot and ending may have been different. I totally get your point about the ending, but I’d argue the lead-up to it was not executed very well, was rushed and that’s part of a reason why it felt flat.

Sorry, I’m also eagerly waiting for this drama and for WCR to claim the title of Queen of Fireworks [-named dramas] 😆

When I asked a general question about whether the vial will be explained later on, someone did spoil it a bit, but I don’t understand the mechanics of it so will not worry about it for now :)

To me it feels like ML is usually too busy trying to not die or to survive, so he doesn’t really think about romance. He’s vastly under-powered in his sect, so he’s spending all his time on finding ways to make pills, learning new skills and cultivating. The main person he’s had a connection so far is MO’s 3rd daughter but she’s not a cultivator and he couldn’t start a relationship with her. But… we will see how he behaves after events of Ep. 12 :)
