Title Veil of Shadows Spoiler
Main takeaway for this drama is to learn when to let go.
Very true point. JiLu CP got a happy ending not so much because of them taking turns to sacrifice for each other’s sake but because he went back in time and took them to a different universe, lol

Jilu is the couple name for Ji Ling and Lu Wuyi 😍
Second couple’s name is WuWu and apparently people with too much free time start fandom wars between the couples and their fans. But both couples are good and we should all just relax & chill. WuWu couple may appeal to older, more mature fans because we saw 50 years of their married life as a relatively normal couple. Whereas JiLu CP had an incredible rollecoaster of emotions during the course of the drama.

I was so confused watching this
Haha… more and more things will be revealed as the show goes on but it’s definitely designed for binging.

If I did not like LBTG would I like this? Is there anyone that liked this and did not like LBTG?
This is definitely more fast paced than LBTG (not to mention 11 episodes shorter). VoS is a highly bingeable show because it moves along quickly and every episode we learn something new another character(s) or backstory — it’s kind of crazy how many layers there are to the story. So I would not even recommend to watch any trailers because they spoil some things :)

Sigh… MDL still haven’t cleaned up all the junk ratings that crashed ratings from 8.5-8.6 to 8.1 in less than a day 🥺😢😞

wait I didn't watch the drama but im okay for spoilers 1.) her mom doesn't like her ? that's her real mom right…
1) We don’t know the entire backstory yet, but her mom (the actress) was not in a picture early on, then child FL found photo of mom and got dad to put her in touch with mom and for years they’ve had a good relationship but the actress mom never told anyone about her (it was a secret and they would always meet inside, not at parks/outside). Then mom got into an accident and FL did a dumb thing (she was in high school, it seems) by running into a hopistal room full of reporters and screaming “MOM!” at the top of her lungs 🙄 After that mom stopped responding to her calls but we don’t know for sure yet if it’s because dad told mom to stop responding (like he claimed) or because mom decided to do so. After that somehow they may have reconnected (or were just paired together) to sell that defective cosmetics product— we don’t know the details about that and what happened afterwards.

2) it’s being heavily implied the girl is a victim of that bad product. But we don’t know what happened and the girl doesn’t hate FL — she remarks how beautiful FL is and how her sister (who likes ML) has no chance. So far the girl and FL have funny banter.

3) Good question! Obviously, she’s a sales person not a manufacturer, so it’s a lot more forgiving. But after that incident FL stopped selling cosmetics and is selling everything else; it’s implied she rebuilt her reputation slowly. Same with her mom who is now launching her own cosmetics line and that line will be sold by FL’s main rival (cosmetics specialist at their shopping channel). But their manager isn’t very smart and forces FL to start selling cosmetics (2ML’s brand where ML’s mushrooms are key ingredient). In reality, of course, this would have brought up lots of stories from the past.

The FLs use of generative AI doesn't make sense to me. We learn that the FL has experienced trauma with selling…
It’s just a product placement for Perplexity AI (less popular analogue to ChatGPT and Google Gemini).

I love the ML but I find the FL annoying. I only watched 1 episode and cannot watch anymore.
It gets better in ep. 3 & 4, but this is definitely one of those dramas where it’s safer to check reviews & comments after all episodes are out.

guys is this worth watching? i’m currently keeping up w perfect crown and i was thinking about picking up this…
Probably best to wait until this is finished airing. First two episodes were so-so, next two episodes were much better, but we don’t know what the writers will do next. If you haven’t watched them, watch Once Upon a Small Town (same vibes but much better drama), Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (similar type of ML, but here he’s grumpier) and The First Frost (FL has sleep problems/sleepwalks as well; of course, TFF is a more serious drama based on a novel by a top writer, so it’s not a fair comparison).

P.S. “Filing for Love” so far is a better drama but also not perfect, so maybe best to wait. Oftentimes recent dramas had started strong and then got worse, so we have to be cautious when a drama has an average start — it has a potential to be bad by the end… or improve a lot.

thank you for the warning.. had enough 2ml bs recently
It’s honestly not that bad. It’s not like other dramas where 2ML is FL’s best friend and takes up a lot of screen time. Here the majority of time is spent on the lead pair and 2ML is more on the sidelines as a business associate of FL & ML.

i think I'm just gonna accept every second male lead in a kdrama is gonna annoy me
It’s definitely easier to watch when 2-3 pairs are clearly defined with no love triangles/squares. Not sure why so many recent K-dramas felt the need to have a third-wheel 2ML. On this drama, at least, there’s a plot reason for that — if 2ML didn’t like FL, he probably wouldn’t have given her permission to sell the products. And he honestly seems pretty harmless and doesn’t get in a way a lot (yet).

i love how he always act like he doesn’t care when he actually cares a lot
The writer’s description of the character was “like male lead of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha but grumpy” 🤣

3 episodes in, it’s not that bad overall, but I’m really struggling with the FL. I get that she has her own…
Episode 4 is better but, yes, it’s not the most logically written drama 😳

who is her mother exactly?I thought they already met in episode 2v
It’s the famous actress who helped FL promote the cosmetics product which caused damage to people (which caused the actress to stop acting and caused FL to stop selling cosmetics) and who is now promoting her own beauty line which is being sold on air by FL’s rival (#1 ranked person in sales at their home shopping channel . More about mom & FL’s backstory will be revealed in episodes 3 & 4 but we still haven’t found out how it happened that both of them were selling that defective product.

Mainly started watching this because of Ahn Hyo Seop but I love the plot setting, in a small cozy village and…
This does get better in episodes 3 & 4 (especially 4), so hopefully things will improve even more. But it really feels like they tried to combine cozy village vibes of Once Upon a Small Town with village/town hero of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha with sleepwalking heroine of The First Frost.

You really think she's that insecure? She's not gonna see Ah Jeong as a threat at all.
This drama isn’t super serious (especially how ML behaves), so I fully expect them to have a quick storyline about ML/FL/2FL. Maybe they will always be going to FL’s place instead of ML’s and FL will suspect something… just a typical comedy situation :)

I didn't finish the first episode, yet. But I have a question. There must be a cultural difference. Why does it…
Bad public image?
But also here you will have situations where both cheating people are employees (there are rules about that, of course, if you cheat in a workplace). And then another episode had a situation which definitely wouldn’t be allowed anywhere (not spiking it).

OH MY GOD EVERY TIME I SEE DAEBIMAMA despite her negative role. SHE IS SOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL AND SOOOOOO ELEGANT…
The actress is absolutely slaying her role. She also manages to look more mature than IU despite being only a few months older

Logically speaking, no one would like it if their bf/gf lived with an ex :)
