You are welcome! I learned about it when reading responses to people who wanted to stir up drama and who claimed that somehow it was Esther Yu’s fault for the drama title being different. In reality, of course, Chinese language titled stayed the same as the original novel. English-language title is Ski Into Love is for the same reason why very, very many English titles aren’t the exact translation — people in marketing think it is more appealing.

I believe the poster is in reference to its Chinese title which is translated as “Shh, the King is Hibernating” and that phrase refers to both ML & FL needing to awaken and fulfill their potential (e.g., for ML to go back to competing and for FL to break free from the bad publishing company & to return to her glory).

C-dramas love to spoil everything in intros or outros 😆

To be fair, this was originally supposed to be 33-36 episode series (36 intended, 33 scripts? something like that). They filmed material for 30 episodes worth of content supposedly but then the final order & approval was for 23 episodes (seems to be a combination of government censorship and of YOUKU’s desire to have shorter series).

They made it seem like 2ML was just a vacation crush/boyfriend for 2FL and she was never serious about him. Not sure if that’s how it was in the novel but that’s what I got out of it — he wanted to continue relationship but she viewed it as a short fling.

They only filmed 30 episodes worth of content not 36 (why not 33 or 36, not sure; perhaps they realized they weren’t going to get approval for 36).
Through 6 episodes, cuts are not distracting. It’s kind of a sports drama so faster pacing seems fine.

ML actually hasn’t mentioned the fact they met even earlier when he was in a bear costume handing out flyers and FL came to his rescue by restraining annoying kids.

ML was 22 when he retired in 2020 (per someone else in the comments here).

At this point, the writers must be using the obviously wacky Evil Grandma as a meta-commentary/criticism of all the other dramas where people get blamed for ridiculous reasons or for things they could not control in any way, shape or form.

In these trying times, The Evil Grandma has united all of MDL!

The good thing about this drama being only 12 episodes is that there is no need for writers to waste episodes on unnecessary melodrama/angst.
In a 16-episode drama, they would have dragged events if episode 7 much longer (episode 10-12).

No triangles here. Just a question of how/when ML+FL and 2ML+2FL will become couples.
