Isn’t “Love is for the Dogs” just another name for this drama (that’s how it’s listed on Viki, for example)? At least, I couldn’t find any other movie or drama with that name 🥺

One episode per week seems to be standard for Filipino dramas. I’m very thankful they do recaps before every episode 😁

This review was written when only 2 or 3 episodes had been released, so it feels unfair to judge it based on that or claim you’ve seen “16 of 16 episodes”. For what it’s worth, this is based on a Wattpad “novel” from 2012-2013 so you can’t expect super serious dialogues of adult-oriented drama. The budget looks okay for a Filipino drama — it’s not a super polished production like on a K/C-drama but there’s certain charm to it. The lead actress is very good and believable in her role so far (through 5 episodes). ML (Drake) is one of those typical “dead inside” characters so there’s not much for the actor to do but later episodes (which review author didn’t watch) show more sides to his character. But, again, this is a high-school comedic drama not an Oscar-winning production.

I suppose it’s realistic that Sheen can’t get over Kei so easily and is still chasing her. But, yeah, that couple (not a couple?) isn’t as interesting as what’s going on with DrakLys and KenYa ☺️

The KenYa couple might be more successful & stable than DrakLys, lol 😆

I hope the last 3 episodes do not become super serious. This show functioned the best when it was lighthearted comedy. Making things overly dramatic may not be for the best.

You are welcome! Really love the soundtrack in “Are You the One”. Shazam and SoundHound are very useful when trying to find songs from C-dramas because song titles are almost always in Chinese. If you don’t find anything (which happens regularly), YouTube is a good place to look. For example, WeTV/Tencent has all five main songs as 21-minute video.

It’s a variation of one of main songs (it plays during waterfall scene, I think). The short instrumental track is 休書 by 周經緯，譚旋 (the full song is《相思闋》（《光陰諾》粵語版）by 蔡子伊)

If you are talking about Tripp Palma, then I believe the answer is yes (at least, in the novel). I haven’t read the novel but accidentally came across some information when researching the series (there’s a second book).

The thing is that it’s not hard to come up with a scenario where he’d have to show off (it that’s the goal). For example, have a very sick kid with a super rare disease and the only medicine is under the water in the school. Sometbing like that. But not a painting 😒

I really liked how the natural disaster and rescue scenes were handled in “Fireworks of My Heart” (those people were firefighters/emergency response but also got some assistance from army). Here we had a guy diving to rescue a PAINTING 🖼️ and he didn’t even have scuba gear or fins. I’m sorry, children, but your painting is not THAT precious. It’s not only dangerous but they could’ve used the time to rescue more people.
